Evanescence The Open Door
Voto:
Yes, but do you have in mind the vague concept of QUALITY? Evanescence are lacking precisely in that. Just look into the history of Rock, and you'll find that Evanescence will be mentioned only for the Music Business. (if they are mentioned at all).

I listened to Temptation...really ridiculous.

You don't mess with me... if you listen to Pantera and Mastodon, you can't be listening to Evanescence. Evanescence is the lowest point of your music tastes then.

and to resume a path (for you anyway not particularly significant as far as I’ve gathered) started and ended in the 60s/70s, as the DT did, must seem even more insubstantial and especially anachronistic, I imagine. The fact is that before contextualizing and giving meaning to an artist group, one should really "study" it well, listening to at least the majority of its discography. Best of luck for tomorrow anyway :-)

Okay, so let me ask you a question (the umpteenth one). What do you think is the communicative meaning of bands like Yes, Rush, King Crimson?
Opeth Damnation

Larrock.. your first statement is nothing short of melancholic, if not sad. In my opinion, this is artistically one of the least inspired works of Opeth, and I've felt this way for a long time. To me, Still Life is a great album; Easy would probably spit on it. Don’t worry, I still have my brain to think. And I only said that this album isn’t progressive, not that it sucks. It’s the least ambitious of Opeth, the most monotonous, and personally, I don’t see all that many ideas in it. Just to remind you, I am a fan of Opeth. Don’t make me take the easy way out in this situation; I would hate myself for doing that, but the fact that it’s played by God doesn’t interest me much.

if this is progressive...nice album, but it is NOT progressive. Some atmosphere at most.

I apologize to all of you...when I voted I was drunk.
Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

Form.. at the moment when two different styles or genres merge, a new, different, and original style is born, a new SUBSTANCE. I understand that you need to find a CLEAR CULTURAL AND SOCIAL IMPACT, a communicative and expressive message that is clear and absolutely DEFINED in the music you listen to, but what if the message were instead NON-Definable, more abstract, conceptually vaguer? Less culturally channelable, in short? Would that mean, in your opinion, a lack of artistic value?

"For at least 20 minutes, this is one of the greatest prog-rock bands of all time, but for the remaining hour, it's the most boring experience on this side." But does it refer to Sex Degrees Scaruffi in this case??
