No no, once you say things as they are... it's true the early Korn are pretty good, you shouldn’t be afraid to say it, Dream Theater...

Well, oh my, I'm not exactly a big fan of the Cure either, but between songs like "cold," "one hundred Years," or "plainsong" and certain albums by the Dt, personally, I’d choose the former for life :-P

Well, even if you were to change your position, it certainly wouldn't be a sign of immaturity. Quite the opposite... I still recommend that you change your position, but for yourself, not for me; I don't care if you listen to Dt or Dirty 3.

they break your balls after a while, zero expressive variety.

I can't wait to listen to it, for now I only know "water is not Enough," and I like it enough... I hope it has little in common with TEOES!

Dear aereosiphon, far be it from me to discuss tastes, which remain exclusively subjective... my argument concerns a more objectifying, more concrete, more historical concept. Art as innovation, as originality, as expressiveness, as "historical data" in short. Of course, it will never be 100 percent objective, but it will certainly be more objective than the emotions and sensations you or I might feel in front of the same song... I wish you good night!

"It matters, it matters... Since after the posthumous celebration of Mercury there are those, evidently with few listens behind them, who exalt the '80s Queen" that's true, but I'm not one of those who glorifies them. Sure, I also prefer "the modern Dance" by Pere Ubu, which is a masterpiece, but at the same time I acknowledge the beauty of the first Queen albums. And anyway, although not extremely original, they seasoned everything with their own personality, with their own vision. With Mercury in a nutshell."

Omeganex, it's clear you want to discuss and probably argue with me, but I'm stopping you right there. I am a former fan of Dt and I know every single one of their songs by heart, so I've experienced them quite a lot. If I speak about them in a certain way now, it's because I've discovered some things, new music. And anyway, without overgeneralizing, I will limit myself to talking about this album, which is an abomination in every sense. You see, let me give you an ultra-basic example: I'm listening to "damage" by Yo La Tengo, a "little song" of just a few minutes. Well, what that "little song" gives me, the entire discography of Dt no longer gives me. These are things that have to happen, there's nothing to be done. For me, that small song is art. And by the way, I can say what I want about Dt, if you please. But which defamers? Aren't we in a democracy, yes or no?

Oh, isn't High Voltage exactly like that? Please, these five "artists" have been living off their reputation for years because they know their die-hard fans allow them to do so. Systematic Chaos is 0, it’s artistic nothingness; I truly don’t understand how one can have the audacity to admit that this crap "is a good album." Tastes are tastes, but I remain astonished nonetheless.

It's the attitude that led to the making of this album, which makes me consider it the worst in rock: Music to please fans addicted to technicalities, not art seen as a genuine impulse of a certain vision of life. And if it were a vision of life, that of this album is horrendous.
