I see absolutely nothing innovative in the Dt (except maybe I&W, which at least has made prog metal official). "Musical point of view" is really too generic of an expression, and from a compositional standpoint, the plagiarisms are there, and they are glaringly obvious. If we want to cover our eyes with slices of ham, that's another story.

Well, take it as it is.

And based on what would every album of the DT be considered fully sufficient? From a technical standpoint, maybe?

But where did this maginboo come from? Metal has its stereotypes and flaws, but Vasco is the KING OF STEREOTYPE, so he can only keep quiet.

Oh, sorry, I got confused with OM 1...the comment above refers to the first Operation. As for 2, it's a rather meaningless record (in my opinion).

I’ll tell you, Operation Mindcrime II didn't impress me much... I’d give it a passing grade, but more for historical reasons. Besides, I don't see all this progressive metal (as many would like to imply), except for one of the very first songs on the album, which is an instrumental that DT drew inspiration from for Overture 1928. For the rest, it feels like hard rock with great arrangements, but not much more; it’s quite conventional. Also, the ballads are UNBEARABLE. But that's just my opinion.

Yes, that album by Blind Guardian deserves a solid 1. It was my first review and I was still hooked on Metal...actually, if you give me a 1 for the review, you'll be doing me a favor; 3 stars for that monstrosity can’t be heard.

Finally, I explicitly thanked Wilson for BlackWater park, didn't you read that? Yeah, the two groups influenced each other, but let's not get confused. They are still two different groups, and just because I like one doesn’t mean I have to like the other as well.
