HANZO, I’ll be honest, I honestly don’t understand what you want me to respond... I don’t want to put forward innovative critiques or comments, who ever said that?? I just need my critique to be coherent and rational. It’s not that a critique has to be original or innovative to be truthful and shareable... it’s enough to state things as they are. Moreover, the idea that Dt create music that isn’t artistically elevated is an opinion that’s widely held in rock criticism. It’s well-known (and you can hear it!) that their virtuosities are often self-serving. And it’s also clear that they borrow from here and there! I mean, come on, inside Systematic Chaos there are 12 bands in 1, come on...

"The real problem is that you are too limited to understand this CD."...Italy still has some uncultivated land. Make it fruitful, go ahead.

@: but referring to the past and not saying anything new etc...

Alt Alt, I loved Images and Awake a WHILE AGO, but now I'm not crazy about them, quite the opposite... without a doubt they are better than Systematic Chaos. Of course, many people ignore the concept of "reworking," as referring back to the past is natural (and that's fine), but going back to the past without saying anything new compared to the Masters is not so good. So referring back to the past is okay, but it needs to be done with a sense of history and maintaining a minimum of expressiveness. Something that DT don’t do. "lux I challenge you: find me one CONSTRUCTIVE criticism of DT that isn’t trivial and/or hasn’t been thrown around billions of times and you will earn my full respect".... and what can I say, I've made my criticism, if you disagree... what can I do? I can’t find anything good in the latest DT; if you want we can discuss Images and Awake, but I don’t consider even those two albums masterpieces. Let’s say I would give a 6 to both. Because anyway songs like Another Day, Surrendered, and Wait for Sleep I can't stand anymore. Then you have to see from what point of view we judge. In the end, DT have officialized prog metal, they didn’t invent it from scratch. I agree with those who say DT haven't been able to renew themselves anymore. It's true. If they had only created IMAGES & Words it would have been the same for all of Rock. Already Awake itself is derivative compared to Images, but it still contains songs like The Mirror, Lie, and Space Dye Vest, which at least try to be expressively a little different. Ah, 6.00 is one of the best songs on the album in my opinion. Coincidentally, in the 4 songs I mentioned, Labrie sings in a more relaxed and less pathetic manner, more personally. And this should make one reflect.

But !dreamtheater!, you know how it is: "layne staley lowered you to his level, doesn't seem like a mature attitude to me..." I thought you were specifically referring to me... well, if I missed the mark, I apologize.

And he talks about maturity, having started on my review by calling me and everyone who didn't appreciate the DT album pathetic. You have the face of an ass, may you be killed.

Neurosis Given To The Rising

the first impact was disappointing... they seem like a poor imitation of themselves... I'm afraid they've said everything they needed to say already a while ago. Luckily we still have great albums like Souls at zero and TSIB. I'm not worried anyway, every artist is born, lives their golden period, and then dies (artistically). it's physiological, so I don’t blame Neurosis at all.
