Here they are, the funny guys from Built! I absolutely love many of their songs, but after a while they can give you diabetes...

Blackdog, I've already given you my explanation. If you want to pretend nothing happened and overlook the issue, I can't exactly smash your head in. You're as stubborn as I am, but what do you want me to believe, come on?? I speak Italian, until proven otherwise. I didn't say that Queen doesn't have a conservative component; I said that WITHOUT A DOUBT, they're no more conservative than Aerosmith. So, it seems contradictory to ridicule Queen while promoting Aerosmith. I'm talking about the quality of their early albums, not about the clueless fans; I haven't questioned them at all. I'm not interested in discussing the fans; that's not the point I want to make. Furthermore, sticking to the theme of "reactionary," I'm surprised you appreciate the latest Pt album so much, as that record is anything but "out of the box"... and again, I see a contradiction on your part. As for the idea that the early Queen is "hard rock 98% empty and superficial"… well, give me a plausible explanation for that. If you look at the early Queen through the lens of parody, their albums become a particular form of art. And I'm not the only one saying this. Stop.

On never offending first is a custom I always adhere to, even though snapping over the smallest thing like I did with "a sad one" may seem like the behavior of a frustrated person just waiting to argue with the first one who provokes them, so it's always good to keep oneself in check ;-) Bye!

Have you listened to The Downward Spiral by any chance, Mike76?

cptgaio what can I say... I’ll feel watched from now on on Debaser! Of course, I didn't quite get the whole testing thing, but whatever, as long as it’s a joke! Luckily, "a sad one" doesn’t actually exist... sorry for the colorful insults, but I've met some guys recently on Debaser, one more of a jerk than the other, always ready to insult you! PS: I always try to align myself with the nickname Lux, hoping to come across as the least Fake of Myself possible.

Blackdog, I've never talked about masterpieces, I've talked about great Queen albums. Toys in the Attic is a good album, but it's conservative, and you can't deny that. ANATo is ABSOLUTELY no more conservative than Toys in the Attic. In fact, at least the Queen made parody, they laughed at themselves (I’m in love with my car… with the pistons a-pumpin’ and the chrome wheels shining… I told my girlfriend I had to forget her and instead buy a new carburetor…) but come on Blackdog, don't you still get the true spirit of Queen? Haven't you understood that Mercury's genius at the beginning (then crap, okay) was in his mocking hard rock (Sweet Lady), vaudeville (Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon), pop (You’re My Best Friend), folk ('39)... not to mention Bohemian Rhapsody... the early Queen had everyone looking the other way, and no one noticed…

Listen "sad one," let’s not kid ourselves, please. I may have exaggerated with the insults towards you, but you really asked for it, pretty boy. Here, everyone is free to say what they want; the important thing is not to insult anyone. And before you arrived on this review, I hadn't insulted anyone. You wanted clarifications on my thoughts about Metal? Perfect, you could have started by saying, "Lux, could you explain better what you wrote about Metal? Can you be more specific?" I would have replied calmly. But what did you do instead? You showed up with a clearly provocative post calling me a (fake) top student (based on what, only you know). So don’t be surprised when I tell you to fuck off. Wikipedia? No thanks, I don’t need it. Can’t I be free to say that Mesmerize by Celtic Frost reminds me of The Cure in a Metal version? What are you looking for, sad one?

But the problem, Johnny, is precisely that polished sweetness, that redundant and exaggerated pathos, that total appearance at the expense of expressive refinement. The DTs commodify love, making it so hypocritically accessible to everyone, so plastic, so purely aesthetic, so falsely sweet, that it becomes cloying at first, then stereotyped. It’s not a problem of lyrics, believe me, it’s about music. It’s always the way you communicate that matters. Careful, I’m not saying that only the form and the way you say something count. Quite the contrary. Form shapes substance, and substance shapes form. The relationship is inseparable. It’s just that when I only see the form (like in the average DT ballad), I no longer find it acceptable... and I go listen to "Sometimes" by My Bloody Valentine! (truly stunning, if you don’t know it, I recommend you get it). To help you understand my point of view I suggest it, not to be a know-it-all... don’t misunderstand me!

Do I shoot judgments, you fool? Tell me where I insulted in this review (except now, obviously). What is it, can't I express my opinion in a civil manner, you rude, ignorant, alienated, and uncritical brat? Come on, give me a counter proposition to mine, logical and coherent (as the good Neurath wanted), and possibly expansive. You haven't said anything yet; I've said something.
