Point 5: "it's certainly not in your article that you'll find the pinnacle of objectivity" did I ever say that I want to reach "the pinnacle of objectivity"?(!!!) I simply limited myself to arguing my critique. I pointed out the weaknesses of all the songs, what do you want to blame me for? What are you saying? I would be curious to read your reviews, oh Master.

Point 4: Consequently, a person who writes a critical review of an album and tears it apart considers themselves God??!? So according to you, do I consider myself God just because I wrote a critical review???? Do you happen to use drugs regularly?

Point 3: "I don't disrespect musicians who are, in any case, talented." Oh really, and based on what is a musician talented? Let's hear it. Let me guess: if a musician has 10 years of conservatory behind them, they're talented? Come on, enough with these clichés. And by the way, where did I disrespect the musicians? I made a free critique; is it not possible to make a free critique in this country? Did I perhaps insult individual musicians with bad words? Huh... so to you, a review is objective only if it speaks well of an album, and if it speaks poorly, it’s not objective... how the hell do you reason? Do you realize that your reasoning is medieval? Can’t it be that this album is objectively poor, no?

Point 2: "the only one you insulted in that article is the Italian grammar" Oh really? And where would these great "grammar" mistakes be? (and you're talking about grammar, huh)?

Ciccio, with all due respect, but your post really doesn't make any sense. Point 1: "Do you realize that this review is a hodgepodge of your personal judgments"...really? You've discovered hot water. Maybe you don't know, but ALL reviews on planet Earth start from personal, therefore subjective, points. What are you so scandalized about? Are you perhaps anointed by the Lord, and when you write reviews, you shape them with the Holy Spirit, reaching the truth? Please...

I only got involved because you mentioned me X-D, and the review is on the homepage.. to argue means to discuss as well, to discuss Queen, Pt, Nin for example..;-)

Huge album, it relaxes me a lot, I don’t see it as gloomy as many claim.

Blackdog, you may lose your fur but not your habits... if you’re not poking at someone, you’re not happy, huh!? Evidently, you’ve had the same effect on Indu as you did on me X-D. Anyway, don’t worry Black, we’re the crazy ones, you’re perfect and your personality is loving and you’re always the funniest on DeB! Make sure you never reconsider the way you express your ideas, even if you might become a little more self-critical... X-D.

Yes, but the VU, before being loved by those who follow new wave and dark, are Rock, simply Rock. Just as Hard rock is Rock above all. The same goes for Metal and progressive; we are always talking about Rock. So before stumbling into the multitude of subgenres, let's remember that we are always discussing rock, always and only that. Therefore, in the end, the VU are listened to by those who like Rock, regardless of the subgenre they belong to. In my opinion, those who judge, for example, a metal album solely by "metal" criteria make a huge mistake... for me, it really doesn’t make sense; it almost seems as if metal is a genre apart... and indeed, look at those criteria: a metal album to be good (according to metal standards, purely aesthetic criteria, without a shred of expressiveness) should be "powerful"(!), rich in solos (!!), with double kick drums (!!!). You can see it’s both right and wise to bring everything back to the level of Rock; otherwise, we really risk confusing gold with crap ;-)

Uhm, don’t you think that the experimental and visionary rock of Zappa and Beefheart is a bit superior in quality compared to the simple conservative pop of the Beatles and the reactionary (though not bad) rock of the Stones? Uhm... I would say that the Beatles and the Stones were simply more famous than Zappa and Beefheart, certainly not better... also because we need to consider WHO they influenced, it’s not enough to just say they influenced.
