We discovered that good Primiballi distorts other people's posts X-D Aside from the fact that I would be curious to know WHERE I ever expressed the opinion that the 90s were better than the previous decades (look around and let me know), I merely stated that they are my favorites, perhaps also for the generational reason mentioned above. On the contrary, YOU made a VERY absolutist value judgment, completely dismissing them. But you started turning the tables from the beginning with the story that I admitted the 60s were boring years… unbelievable! How can one not understand that my reference to the 60s was purely temporal and not comparative? Vasco would have been outdated even in the 60s, meaning Vasco was releasing records that were OLD by 20 years (in the 80s), old by 30 years (in the 90s), and old by 40 years (in 2000). It's curious that you are the one talking about arrogance... you, who subtly insinuated that I am not a wonderful and competent person because I criticize Vasco, as if I were one of the most negative elements you could find on Deb. And then with this whole story about the overestimated 90s... in the end, I named some big-name artists from the 90s, seeing as you were stretching the argument and continued to equate the 90s with Oasis, as if they were the artistic paradigm of the decade.

Red House Painters, Nine Inch Nails, Fugazi, Mercury Rev, My Bloody Valentine, Slint, Cop Shoot Cop, Vampire Rodents, Built To Spill, Morphine, Dogbowl, Bark Psychosis, Barkmarket, Atari Teenage Riot, Dadamah, Codeine, Lisa Germano, Lycia, Magnetic Fields, Polvo, Portishead, June Of 44, Shellac, Slowdive, Stereolab, Yo La Tengo, Tortoise, Breeders, Girls Vs Boys, Neurosis, Jesus Lizard, Kyuss... etc. Well, maybe there’s some truth to the whole generational judgment thing, but it is a fact that the 90s are literally packed with good stuff. But thank goodness for you, Primiballi, who strive for objectivization; lucky you who avoid ontological dangers... I just limit myself to navigating through the epistemological ones. X-D

Gardy, my speech implies knowledge of certain material, and I have the impression (just an impression) that you don't even know this material exists. When people criticize Vasco, it's because they've listened to a lot (but a lot, a lot) of better stuff; that's the point. So I can simply tell you that I prefer to listen to, for example, Lo Spirito Continua by Negazione rather than "Eeeeh, ooooh, liberi liberi da sta ceppa." I prefer the communicative urgency of the former to the pathetic, sentimental, trivial, vulgar Sanremo-like approach of the latter.

Gardy, reread your posts and then mine, and see to whom the expression "argometazione zero" should be attributed.

"there will always be space for those who believe -even if they don’t admit it- that the best is the one who listens to them because no one listens to them" -- you are not a good sociologist. The success (in Italy, it’s important to emphasize) of Vasco is a consequence of his mediocrity. I’m not saying that Vasco is poor because he sells. I consider Vasco poor for the reasons I mentioned above, and the socio/commercial success is a consequence of his mediocrity.

Primiballi, I assure you that, at least personally, I am a bit musically frustrated (as a music enthusiast, it annoys me to see the mindless masses still listening to this mediocre stuff), but I don’t understand what a Vasco detractor should be envious of. I truly rack my brain but can’t find ONE reason for envy. I certainly wouldn’t want to be like him; his music generally makes me laugh… so? But let’s be honest, please. Let’s say that to understand Vasco as an overrated phenomenon, one necessarily needs to listen to CERTAIN little things; otherwise, the criticisms against him will never be understood. What is certain is that if I am not a "wonderful person," it’s not because I disdain Vasco. And if to be knowledgeable means defending this arcade rocker, well, I’d rather be ignorant.
