I would add, for the technical part, excellent black and white where the shadows are very readable, like the face of the mother who looks like a heroine with her face marred by inhuman effort. Beyond that hand of the child pulling at his mother's skirt, almost transforming her into a statue. The shot from below and the blurred background combined with the time of day (with shadows toward noon) do the rest, emphasizing the scene with harsh tones. On the other hand, the political context interests me much less; here there is only the mother-child relationship. And what a mother (woman) can do for her children.
