Think, I, unlike Grasshopper, would actually start from the 50s/60s period which I definitely consider refined, and in my opinion much more enjoyable. Perhaps, even though I am generally very much against it, it might be worth getting a nice best of, for example from Blue Note, which pulls together various styles from different eras. Miles Davis, Coltrane (be careful here!), Mingus. But also Rollins, Basie... many. Anyway, it’s worth it.

It passed through my hands just yesterday, from my "discotecaio": I was literally captivated by the cover, those cars, the title, and of course, by Haden. I spent a few seconds aware that it had already made its way into my shopping basket, but when I flipped the record, I saw 19.50 euros! I settled for a great vintage Horace Silver at 10.00 euros. But then I arrived here, read, and was struck by tragic regret. I already know that at the first opportunity, I'll get it.
