I would like to remind the kind commentators and also the very kind reviewers that, SOMETIMES, the book in question has not yet been read by those who come here. Especially in the reviews of these books with mysteries to be solved, IT WOULD BE REQUESTED that you gentlemen do not reveal the solution or provide veiled hints. For crying out loud.

The videocracy attacks itself: The newspaper directed by Feltri and owned by Berlusconi subtly suggests to Fini that if he doesn’t fall back in line (see: he must remain silent and follow the Master), some "red-light" dossiers might come to light. I don’t believe that Italian democracy has ever reached such low and vile levels.

Just to stay on the theme of videocracy yes or videocracy no... at Rai it seems they don't want to renew Travaglio's contract. They are delaying the first episode of Ballarò and instead will air a promotional feature by Vespa on the delivery of homes in Abruzzo. At Rai tre, there's a bad atmosphere for Fazio and company. This is the Rai where the Tg1 has already been slaughtered by the new general director who doesn't air news about Berlusconi, specifically regarding the scandal with prostitutes, because "it's just gossip". Perhaps the right word isn't Videocrazia...

Don't worry, sometimes it's right to write "ai" with an h, but please don't ask me in which cases, okay...

I break a lance in favor of DeLorenzo or whoever represents him. After yet another review seen from his perspective, I believe there should be no doubt about his intellectual honesty and his effort to give shape, perhaps a justification, to his way of thinking. I read glimpses of embarrassment in your review, soon overcome by some jabs at ā€œthe leftist intellectual,ā€ but so be it. Therefore, the review, from my point of view, is good. However, I do not share it. The fact that a young man should dream of becoming a parachutist (pure machismo) instead of dreaming of getting on XFactor (perhaps it would have been better to mention Amici di Maria De Filippi) seems to me a "dream" that is quite sad. Perhaps you are right that to cause the damage Berlusconi has done, there must still be a substrate to leverage. But I believe that Berlusconi and his cohorts, first with commercial television and then with politics, have scientifically pinpointed the vulnerabilities of the masses to act upon. Vulnerabilities to strike hard for mere profit and power. For instance: sex (think of butts, breasts, and curves), easy money, material wealth, ephemeral success, fear of the foreigner, fear of the harsh judge who throws you in jail, the figure of the successful entrepreneur, a woman being ā€œGod’s giftā€ to man (a phrase uttered yesterday in front of a bewildered Zapatero), the objectified woman as a conquest, the fear of taxes and the concealed desire to pay them and make others pay, the fear of the different, of those who come to take our jobs, our women, our peace of mind, etc. He has always leveraged the most animalistic feelings of Italians. By manipulating television (putting that director at TG1, trying to dismantle Rai3, in addition to dictating the rules to all of Mediaset), dismissing hosts (Biagi, Mentana, Santoro...), newspaper directors (Montanelli...), attempting to acquire as much media power as possible, trying to take over the Corriere, suing and intimidating anyone standing between him and public support, La Repubblica, L'Unità, and Boffo most recently. He supports criminals (Putin while even mimicking the sound of a machine gun), relies on them (the mafia for votes in the south), and even tries to defend them (constant attacks on the frontline judiciary). In short, this is just a small summary of truly awful twenty years from my point of view. And I am not a leftist intellectual.

The review is well done, light and engaging. However, Dalí and his works have always had a soporific, cloying, surreal effect on me :-). I don't see that spark that makes him an exceptional talent, someone who remains in history. He’s good, I’m not denying that. But just because someone grows a mustache haphazardly and has a crazy look doesn't suddenly make him a Great. Look at Picasso, so neat, clean-shaven, with crew-neck t-shirts and shirts, so precise... and yet...

Ezekiel, insulting a woman is too easy. Do you want to understand it or not? That's the difference, brainiac. When you insult a man, you don't know if he might just break you in two. Instead, when you insult a woman, you're more on safe ground (not always). Do you get the subtle difference? And since you're a scholar, you shouldn't insult; you should argue with a logical-sequential reasoning that can corner your opponent (male or female).
