Nice review Primiballi, I agree with your review and especially with the lack today, or rather better, with a damn nostalgia, for a "songwriter of the past." I can understand that we won’t have another De André or early De Gregori, but could we at least have something that resembles it a bit? Bersani had found the right balance in some of his past songs, but upon closely examining and listening to his songs that still stand well, they can be counted on one hand. As you say, it’s difficult, extremely difficult to tell a story poetically, engagingly, yet simply in three minutes: Will we have a Marinella song, a Rimmel, an Azzurro, a 4 marzo 1943, or at best a Roma Capoccia?
