Naked City Torture Garden

I'm not exactly a novice when it comes to Zorn and various bands; if we talk about the first "Naked City," I have nothing to object. However, here, without bringing up who plays and who sings, we find ourselves in a real mess, which was later, in my opinion, more successfully completed by "Pain Killer Guts Of A Virgin," in a trio with Bill Laswell. Considering then the subsequent works of Naked, namely "Heretics" and "Grand Guignol," I feel it's safe to say that this is the worst.

An absolutely unmissable live event!

I only just had the chance to buy the live and watch it calmly. While I respect your point of view, I actually think this live is a masterpiece (In video, we already knew it from the CD), minimal and robotic even in the images, but not cold in a predictable way; on the contrary, they once again prove to be truly and diabolically ahead. Furthermore, I agree with both Mr. Wolf and Frost's posts. I’m sure that now, in hindsight, you would reconsider your position.

I find the album to be beautifully gritty; it's true that "Budapest" is very nice, but I also want to highlight "Farm On The Freeway." As far as I'm concerned, starting from the production, the sounds, and of course the compositions themselves, the comparison with the Deep simply doesn't hold up. Besides, I think "The House Of The Blue Light" belongs among the worst albums ever; I can't save even half a song—it's like listening to the worst of Europe.
George Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue - Piano Concerto in F - An American in Paris

Honor Gershwin; after all, Previn's version (of course, also at the piano) is my favorite of all. I find it a bit more vibrant and fresh. The conducting in Antal Dorati’s version is also splendid. If you get the chance, try to get it; it’s very "American" and is reasonably priced.

Anyway, I still can't hear the samples, which makes me very sorry.

Listen to me, Odradek! If you keep this up, I might not actually write again for quite a while. I'm ashamed of my reviews. These are vague words on musical matters. Well done.

Hi odradek, when did you write this? I must have missed some things, anyway it's nice. What’s behind this reviewing drive? I barely recognize you anymore, you’re becoming almost "ordinary."

Hi JoP, I’m not familiar with the album and, being ignorant, I don't even know the artist, but by checking the site from time to time, I find it pleasant and stimulating for my upcoming purchases to read you.
