saw them last night together with the Dzjenghis Khan (or however the hell it’s spelled). The Dzjenghis were as nice off stage as they were pretty useless on stage; I was about to get their vinyl but I held onto my money instead. On the other hand, the Orange were really badass; I won’t be able to hear for the next two days because of the outrageous volume of the guitar, but they were massive. Too bad that besides being very derivative, they went ahead and did two covers of Blue Cheer live. But with a HUGE character like the drummer, they can get away with anything. As soon as I can, I’ll make my avatar with a picture taken yesterday.

I know well, but you have to admit that it's just a bit more than a well-executed job, well-played for sure, but fundamentally a rehash of things that have been heard a million times before, and I'm telling you this as someone who hasn't listened much to doom (but definitely to stoner).

Paola and Francesca, I have a serious question: I had read that the principle contained in salvia divinorum (legally available in Italy around 2003/2004) was still poorly understood, it wasn't like psilocybin and it wasn't clear how it interacted at the brain level. Do you know anything about it?

I remember it well, this one, one of the few "unfindable=cool for sure" things from the heavy prog melting pot that lived up to the expectations. I just need to figure out where I put it....

Between this and Shrinebuilder, I don't know which one tells me less. I mean, neither of them is ugly; I knew it would be like this. But am I wrong for looking for something badass in here? Shrinebuilder is even less fun for me than this, the typical mountain that gives birth to a mouse, boring to boot.

Big concert, and a huge surprise with the singer of 16 Horsepower aka Woven Hand. Given the music and the neo-Gothic setting, his impact was devastating! Six Organs with Ambrogio on the noise guitar + another guitar + Ben + a quirky free jazz-oriented drummer = PURE JOY! Tracks primarily from this, School Of The Flower and Shelter From The Ash, often turned into improvised noise rock. Chasny, shy after the concert, I wanted to take a photo together, but I'm too old for this fan stuff!

Well done, Ivo, one of those I miss from the Kraut period. Always great choices, keep it up!

Damn, is Masonna still around??? 13/14 years ago we were into Masonna, Gerogerigegege, Genbaku Onanist, Violent Onsen Geisha, Hanatarashii, Yamatsuka Eye and the whole japanoizu crew. I also remember a CD called Music For Bondage, but there's no way I can remember who it was by! Nino was always one of the most entertaining!
