Hi Lewis, imagine I held that LP in my hand for an hour in Boston, but in the end, I gave up. If I had known it was like that, I would have bought it, damn it!
Roky Erickson with Okkervil River True Love Cast Out All Evil

A straclassic record, almost too much if you are not just thinking of the Elevators, but also Roky's other solo works. Trying to find even the strange high notes of Roky is fundamentally wrong, at least in the "pacified" Roky of today. I can only be incredibly happy that one of the most famous "acid casualties" of the '60s is doing well and is completely himself. It’s a pity, though, that, at least in my view, the record is made by the Okkervill River (and here I don’t agree with ez). If one knows them a bit, one realizes that TLCOAE is an even more "classic" version of the previous Okkervill titles. Had they recorded it with the lost singer of the Unbelievable Cazzons (the original ones from the '60s, not the ones from the '80s), no one would have cared, let’s admit it. Luckily, a couple of tracks are "classically" beautiful, especially Goodbye Sweet Dreams. In conclusion, I will be back here in a year to completely change my mind, even more classically. Classically yours, psycho.

nooo!!!! The Deep is a flop, Lewis! One of the few albums I left on the shelves while I was in Tokyo... I only remember tone-deaf people (in both senses, since it was a night of chemical creativity experiment) playing in an obscene manner. But damn, you've put the bug in my ear again, because I'd completely forgotten about it!

slurp, t shirts!!! I need to check if they have that one with this cover, but it would be super cool and they are a bunch of idiots, so I don't think they thought of it! I've already ordered Vol 2 on vinyl mannaggialazozza... and anyway yes, €15 at concerts is almost what I pay in store, so no bargain.

I hate you, and I also hate my friend Mattia who yesterday candidly declared that I should go on tour with the Edible Woman, supporting a mythical US group, that is, the Wooden of course. So, well, you can all picture it, dogs and pigs, and I lose them 3 times in a few months. I’m making myself a t-shirt with this cover, four characters somewhere between ridiculous and wrecked. But were they selling the vinyl of the Moon Duo?

I got it on vinyl this summer at the Malleus exhibition. Too bad it's impossible to listen to it at proper volumes with a little girl under two years old at home.

I tried to like it in every way possible, but it has some awful sounds that should be banned by law, like that obscene little guitar that comes in halfway through the single (target help me I can't remember the name). The only part I enjoy is the 20-minute mantra.

The diptych of 1984 and Brave New World should be made mandatory reading starting from kindergarten, excerpts from them should be read among the Letters to the Apostles, and that part where it speaks of the body of Christ.

Good job, especially because my hippie side almost wanted to review it, but I’ve already talked too much about retro bands over the years. Anyway, I don’t mind this album, first because that chicken of a singer almost never gets involved, and second because the B side is an overdose of overly familiar Indian raga but with a hell of a punch.
