The phrases on movie posters are usually not written by directors, but by production companies; otherwise "Eternal Sunshine OF The Spotless Mind" wouldn't have become "If You Leave Me, I Delete You." By the same reasoning, is Into The Wild an apologia for someone deluded who meets a miserable (and somewhat foolish) end? Honestly, I never felt any urge to praise or emulate the actions of that idiot Treadwell, and I assume most of the few who have seen this film feel the same way.

Damn, Antò, I'm getting back to you with a guilty delay. I managed to get them over the weekend, I'll let you know. But the fact that they mention such a fantastic cover like this deserves my respect: Ingrandisci questa immagine

I’m currently reading "Le Biciclette Bianche" by Joe Boyd, a key figure of the mid-sixties in the UK as a producer. Of Fairport, of Arnold Layne, of Nick Drake, as well as being half the mastermind behind the Notting Hill Carnival and manager of the UFO Club. He provides a very poetic vision of Danny. However, I already struggle with it in the Fairport version, so for now, I'll skip the solo side.

In my opinion, you didn't understand much of the film, dear Punisher. Where the hell do you think Herzog "celebrates the deeds of a person with delusions of grandeur"? To me, it seems like the opposite attempt, namely to show how nature is beyond the essentialist view that it is still (unfortunately) cloaked in. At most, it seems that Herzog feels compassion for a half-crazy, former surfer with a heavy history of heroin behind him, who is reckless and selfish enough to bring his new woman along and have her mauled by a friendly grizzly. The audio of the attack, captured by the camera that was left on, is incredibly unsettling…

Well, panapp, what did you expect from someone with that photo as an avatar! Anyway, my understanding of modernity was also general; it should have been more precise to say contemporary, but I think you get what I mean. My girlfriend, who is an architect, tells me the same things about Maier's work. I'm just a layman, but I generally like when a society tries to shake off the burden of its millennia-old history (and that doesn’t mean rejecting it, but simply metabolizing it and moving forward, something that has never happened in our parts), instead of being crushed by it for life. In this respect, Japan is emblematic (but there it also comes from a much less dogmatic view of art, which stems from an equally "apocryphal" view of religion). I wouldn't mind having a nice house like that, maybe next to the Vatican: Ingrandisci questa immagine

You just reminded me that: A) on September 5th I have to go to Venice to meet university friends scattered around the world B) I still haven’t seen the Calatrava Bridge C) I work too much. Anyway, I agree with the idea of the museum-city—Venice. The discussion would be long and it really concerns the refusal to embrace modernity that our country maintains, all out of fear of a sort of cultural bastardization, of losing “tradition,” and nonsense like that. But let’s leave it be. Unfortunately, I think it’s an irreversible dynamic; however, I remember feeling sad when instead of a supermarket, a shop for masks opened for the "foresti" with the old Venetians forced to build bridges upon bridges just to go shopping. I conclude by saying Casteo Metal, ghesboro!

@people: the Boohoos were from Pesaro, just like the good Paolo Catena. I, on the other hand, have never been able to find their old records.

Well, the poster of this fantastic cover dominates my living room as a warning to anyone who enters and especially as a votive stele (below is a group photo of the MC5: Nota di reindirizzamento What can I say, I still prefer Funhouse, but it's a matter of mere cents in the voting. It's a shame that Bowie's recording sucks (even the remastered one from April), there's no rhythm section, and the fading out of Search & Destroy at the end is an ENORMOUS blasphemy! At this point, the crazy mix done by Iggy in '97 is better!
