Avril Lavigne Under My Skin

Well, I had commented on the album before but this damn new site deleted everything. So formally the review is fine, but unfortunately for certain things I agree with the Tool singer, that is, I don't think there's a need for a review of Lavigne because personally I see the site as a good free music magazine, where you can discover a lot of great new and old music. Now before you get mad, let me say THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU CAN’T DO A REVIEW OF LAVIGNE. The site is free, the choice is personal, and so are the comments and opinions. In nomine patris et fili, amen.

Never heard why very scared of usability... maybe I'm in a good period and I might be able to feel it... anyway, Sister Ray seems to be like Casadei in terms of usability. Hi and nice rec.

I'll explain it to you, ventu: Noise has always pumped up jon even when he made a sycophantic album like acme, Blow Up is filled with youngsters, max 28 years old (that is, my peers) always in search of the utmost alternivism (what a crappy neologism, sorry). I wrote the above in a hurry, and after a light listen... this album reminds me of the old days of dear jon and it was needed after two missteps like palstic fang and acme. It's not a masterpiece (orange and nowigotworry are other things), but the sounds are pretty lo-fi like back in the day (even though it gives me the impression that there's mega production behind this drum played inside a chest) and finally a use of electronics that's neither too banal nor excessive. One note: I got a bit tired of jon when he sings in a spoken word style during the tracks, often falling into an easy apology of his band (as ironic as that may be, of course). What can I say, I give him

Ah, obligatory comments: I officially thank Rocky for introducing me to this little gem. It's a shame that I can't find an original copy even in Tokyo. I was mistaken with the ratings; it was a 4/5. Lemmy is the first on the left; if the cover were bigger, you'd have a good laugh seeing the faces (but especially the eyes) of the members, clearly high. Hola

I haven’t read the review yet, but I’m quickly responding to djd: their logo is the "uomo camuno," which is a rock painting from the Val Camonica near Brescia, as far as I know... and I've also seen it; it's identical.

Well, I'm a Nowigotworryan, but also an Orangean, so I should like this album... yet from what I've heard, it has disappointed me quite a bit. I can't give a precise reason... anyway, I'm going to download it and give it a proper listen. Nice rec, Luca; I agree about Hella, but mostly live, where they are a different thing compared to their albums. I agree with calling Acme a cheesy thing (and to think it was hailed as an epoch-making album by magazines like Rumore at the time). As for K.: I think he is the ideal man for many women, dear K... and indeed, Mrs. Martinez wouldn’t be displeasing to me either. Bye!

The review, although extremely long by my standards, is definitely well done. Bravo! However, the album, from what I've heard, reinforces the theory that these derivative groups (some more, some less, some better, some worse) make a decent album (usually the first one) and then it would be better if they just stopped altogether. The single is already one of the ugliest things of the year for me. I don’t vote though because I haven't listened enough. Bye.

Sorry dreamer, but do you have something against me and Frantz? And I don't think these are just mental gymnastics. Obviously, everyone sees it their own way. And by the way, my nickname actually means just that.

Well, I'm not crazy about this review, but it's still better than the usual spelling and syntax monsters we have to endure. The only advice I have for you, Enrica, is to be less didactic and more varied in form. Okay, I'm not a genius or anything, but for a first review, it's alright. However, the last thing: why redo reviews of albums that have already been done? And it's been two in just a few days... actually three. I vote against, even if they're poorly done (depends on how poorly). Bye.

About dear Jenna (who knows how much her fee is?): here in Tokyo they sell articulated models of Jenna (no inflatable dolls, real action figures!) Your comments are welcome.
