I too, Socrates, am in the kosmo party, meaning I don't vote for the recs, but I really like your choices and your writing style. I've never bought this disc even though I've seen it used a ton of times; I'd read some bad recs about Josh Rouse, but now I'm redeeming myself. Cheers!

Beautiful recc benzo, but I'm afraid of feeling Rocky right now, it would surely make me sad. Anyway, maybe I'll give it a try... I don't know, I'm a bit biased against the monsters of the past that come back to the limelight. Especially since Rocky had a pretty rough start after the breakup of the 13th floor... interned in a criminal asylum or something like that. Bye.

Thank you, Benzo, you have filled a musical gap for me, I practically know nothing about Devo. But has anyone heard the samples? Do they still sound like the Chipmunks? I hope not.

Picked it up today and listened to it all day, and I'm still listening to it now... what can I say, so far it's a BEAUTIFUL record. I was worried it would be boring singer-songwriter stuff, but I was pleasantly surprised. The guy's voice is wonderfully pissed off, it reminds me of my motorpsycho. Thanks, guys. P.S: can you suggest something else in this genre? Before I head back, I need to go on a mega CD shopping spree in Tokyo and I don't want to just grab '60s psychedelia.

Well, you know living here for a long time isn’t all that cool; anyway, don’t think of this city like New York or other places where there are a ton of cool things and cool people (I think that’s bullshit too), here is the kingdom of appearance and fake, from social relations to concerts like this... just think that people were so stupid that they said it was a beautiful concert. Of course, if they tell you it has to be a great concert, according to the Japanese, it just is... a population without critical sense, never raise your voice from the choir, otherwise, they’ll kick you out of the choir itself. Damn it: I’ll record it for you when I get back, Ptoof, it’s definitely out of line.

Well, let's not overstate the best composer; I think of others, but I really liked the Smashing. I don't miss them because after "Mellon" they should have already broken up, given the declining compositional vein and Billy's super ego. Anyway, I completely agree with you regarding "Soma," a song that still brings tears to my eyes....such beautiful memories.
