Mauro, I'm sorry, but I was hoping (for you) that you were a little bit smarter, or at least witty. You turn a subjective discourse into an objective one. So if we're speaking in general terms, I can tell you that for me, the Earth was commissioned by a pandimensional life form (which in our world takes the shape of a mouse) to find the question to the reason for life in the universe. The answer, in fact, is already known and it's 42. This is my point of view. I have my proofs, and I have written many times to the leading astrophysics institutes, but they have never responded. What could that mean?

Mauro, I'm sorry, but the Darwinian theories you're referring to above have been academically considered outdated for 140 years of anthropology and ethnology. Now, anyone can still cling to those, but they're preaching in the desert. If the "better" biological traits are the ones that are preserved and therefore continue to theoretically prevail, then how come the Black gene in mixed unions is dominant, and even the Asian gene prevails (in the same cases) over the European one (Caucasian, or Northern European)? In my limited wanderings in Asia, I haven't seen any mixed Asians with blue eyes and blonde hair. This doesn't take away from the possibility that maybe 1 in 1000 might be, but I swear, from what I know, that's not the case. Of course, I'm not speaking with concrete data, but let's leave Darwinian theories to gather dust, please. Moreover, during the period they were formulated, there was also an effort for self-legitimization of white European (and I would add Anglo-Saxon) cultural supremacy. Let's say that Darwin's initial insights served as a starting point. What follows has highlighted their gaps. Sunday greetings (and anyway finally a calm exchange of viewpoints, well done).

Unfortunately, I've never heard a cippa from the Faust, only a bit of Faust tapes. Anyway, too many records and not enough time to listen to them, but I hope to catch up in the future. Great review as usual.

Hi Zion, beautiful rec, but I'm not extremely convinced by schwingungen (which I believe means "waves and oscillations"). I've listened to it over and over, but never carefully; maybe I'll take care of that. In Japan, a mega box set was released in December with the first three albums reissued in an extra luxury foldable packaging. And it was quite pricey!

Damn, Northern, I didn't know it had already been reviewed. Well, since I couldn't come up with the review I wanted to write, I’ll just scrap it. Thank you for saving me from my brain strain. Anyway, oh yeah, it's partially sung in Japanese, but I can't understand a thing either, especially since the first part has the singing played backwards.

Damn, northern, I think I’m going to toss my Tago Mago review in the trash since you’ve already done this one. I’ve never heard Future Days, but I’ve heard great things about it. I'm listening to it now, but I realize it takes me a bit too long to absorb the sound of Can. Maybe I'm more inclined towards other things from that era; for example, Yeti by Amon Düül grabs me more. Maybe they were really too ahead of their time. Anyway, referencing Can as your own inspiration is very trendy, but it’s also pretty easy, given that they covered a lot of ground, touching on almost every genre (let's say broadly) and had some truly out-there insights. To mention them among your influences is like saying, "my pop band is inspired by the Beatles," thanks a lot!! And then I’ve noticed in (pseudo)specialized magazines that praising Can seems to be a bit excessive to me, although their musical value is still extremely high. I read something ridiculous in Rockerilla like "Halleluwah is what Interstellar Overdrive by Pink Floyd would have been if they’d been braver"... but come on!!! What do those two bands have to do with each other? Besides, Monster Movie is SO Pink Floyd. This means trying to be alternative and praising some groups while denigrating others, preferably those that have aged poorly. Anyway, great review.

oh how nice the comment above from Mauro...welcome back, we missed you. The CCCP are one of the best and most intelligent Italian bands of the last 30 years and fuck if they rattled and didn't play. Damn, one could spend entire days reading Ferretti's lyrics and always find something brilliant! Just take Punk Islam (which is wonderfully relevant these days): "Allah is great, Gaddafi is his prophet!" "I have a present that is God and works as a waitress." Poetry.

Well, nice comments, but for me, like Zaireeka, this album didn't say much on the first listen, but I didn’t expect anything. Deserter's Song was too beautiful to be true, even for them; it’s the result of an irreplicable intuition, light-years ahead compared to their discography, a bit like Forever Changes in the discography of the Love (with due proportions, of course). As for the combination of FL and MR: in my opinion, the MR, at least until Deserter's Song, have been improving (sorry Zaireeka, but I've already told you that I find Yerself Is Steam truly dispersed and a bit convoluted), while the FL (and here I fully agree with Benzo) in their first 3/4 albums are much better than everything they’ve done afterward. And I’m not saying this to be snobby. I discovered the FL with Soft Bulletin and it didn’t say anything to me; listening to the earlier stuff was already better, and after buying the triple box set I got excited. OH My Gawd!! it's a masterpiece. However, I admit that the FL are a bit better in terms of production quality than the MR, whom I adored for just one album.

Damn, Zion did you download it or is it out? The first one had me hooked for three straight months, even though I thought it was going to suck. Now I'm going to buy this one; I really enjoy bricks, and if you talk to me about a 32-minute track, I'm in even more! Anyway, I'll be in Milan on March 6th, who's coming?
