I couldn't stand it at first (loser and beercan really pissed me off as a fan of metallic sounds), and then I loved it until the concert in Fano in 2000. After that, I stopped following it, and I heard very little of diseachange. It seemed like a boring album to me, but I could change my mind if I listened to it again now. This one I’ve listened to, I agree with the rating antò, and with the fact that you can't go back without opening yourself up to criticism (which I think is justified). However, the album is definitely enjoyable, but honestly, I'll let it pass, my sister just lost my wallet with my pay in yen and now I have like 10 euros in the bank. Argh!!!

I listened to the album, but it didn't thrill me; I imagined it to be different. Anyway, the artwork is fabulous in my opinion, one of the best in recent times.

where the hell did you end up on Sunday? Maybe Gino will record them for me soon, when (even if you don't know it yet) you’ll host me for a concert at Villa Serena of that German psychedelia you love so much.....just the other day a guitarist explained to me what a flanger is. Bye

Well, Scaruffi would deserve a couple of fuck yous, but to each their own. I honestly don't follow his advice, but his site is very useful for band biographies, not at all for the opinions expressed—not because he's not knowledgeable, that's for sure, but because they are very personal (but how can they not be when talking about music?).

We agree on their being out of the box, and on the fact that every track on the album contains three that are all crazy, but if there were half the tracks, the album would be well done. Unfortunately, it is excessively long and if you notice, the structure of the tracks is very similar and over time bores me. If you want something more concise but still deliriously nonsensical, go for the unicorns, similar in setup but with tracks around 3 minutes long.

I agree with Easy; the Velvet Underground had no impact when they first emerged, to the point that their first tour in Frisco was a disaster. Their music was appreciated only in the mid-70s, so much so that Lou Reed, after the success of "Transformer" and "Berlin," made "Rock 'n' Roll Animal," which had all Velvet covers, almost as if to showcase the good they had done that few knew about at the time. I like the record because it’s not easy to talk about the Beatles; you risk either overpraising them or denigrating them from the start, creating a football-like dynamic. Anyway, as usual, the truth lies in the middle. I’m on the Beatles’ side, not saying they invented psychedelia with this record, but they sold the masses a sound that was not very pop for the time. They had the merit (for some, the luck) of pushing the boundaries of pop always a notch further, introducing increasingly disturbing elements. You can debate for years whether they copied or not, but the fact remains that their media visibility meant even the most naive listener could enjoy humming "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," which is already a lot. And then, to say that without Beatlemania (and the Kinks), a genre like garage would never have been born in America. I hope the Chemical Brothers have paid for the plagiarism on "Surrender" of "Tomorrow Never Knows," definitely the most beautiful song by the Beatles in my opinion.

maximainvidiamarco I hope they come to Italy soon, but I don't have much hope... anyway, I agree, nothing or almost nothing disturbs their sound.

I redeem myself... I was just listening to "doremifasito" again... (sorry it could win for title and/or horribilis cover of rock history) and what I wrote above amounts to nonsense... but I like "in search of space" more because it's freakier.
