I still prefer either / or, I don’t know why but it resonates with me less. Anyway, the good Elliot was a very late (almost posthumous) but fundamental acquaintance. As for Will Oldham, I don’t think I can handle it; I just can’t stand him.

Well done, Gino, the rec is really nice. However, if they even slightly resemble the Cocorosie, the next time you come to my house, I'll sneak a virus into your portable hard drive. Bye and congratulations again.

For me, it definitely needs to be bought, both because of the early blues performances and, above all, I repeat, for the entire concert on the second CD that showcases them in blues as well as free form, hyper-direct with a youthful energy and freshness that will soon turn into mannerism. The historical value of the 2nd CD is far greater than the rest for me. I don't know, maybe I'm just really attached to it... I've been listening to it for about 8 years now.

really nice review. I already know they're not for me, but I would gladly see them live. Before reading your review, I thought they were like the chevreuil, but I guess they don't match at all.

The circulus are hyper retro like the gris gris. I know, though, it may be that the gris gris are so multifaceted in their influences that they become brilliant. Or absolutely superfluous. I don't think there's a middle ground. Maybe the first gris gris is less derivative and more personal. The circulus are pure amusement. This Christmas, I bought 8 CDs, and maybe because I spent so much money, I wasn't extremely disappointed with any of them. In order, I got: Boris - Akuma no Uta (very Blue Cheer); Sunn o))) - Black One; Dan Sartain; Circulus; Reigning Sound (formerly Oblivians); Kinski - Alpine Static (instrumental psych rock); Akron Family & Angels of Light (not bad spaced-out folk); Ufomammut - Lucifer Songs (a bit too similar to the rest of their output). Oh, and the latest by the Lords Of Altamont, which I imagine you know. At least now I can afford them quite well. I'll send you the underlined list tomorrow.

The live album from the 70s that I prefer. Better even than How the West, in my opinion. But damn, you liquidate the second CD like that... I mean, that's the peak of Zeppelin; by '72/'73, Plant doesn't have that voice anymore. And then, does anyone realize how all the instruments come in simultaneously in Immigrant Song... it's monstrous. It's worth mentioning that it's also the first time they performed Stairway live, which, even if it's a piece that's been played to death, is devastating.

Ah Rocky, in the end I gave my money for Children of Nuggets... which isn't exactly the best.

Ah yes, holy words from the preacher. What can I say about Rocky's historical excursus, it was really needed. I didn’t pick this up in Tokyo as soon as it came out because it smelled of warehouse leftovers, but maybe I’ll let it slide. Can you believe I was about to buy the last Nuggets due to my compulsive shopping habits? I’d like to hear more about the Litter from the Third Bardo (really massive); I have their first two albums, although their singles aside don’t hold up to the full album, a flaw that can be found in many of these semi-unknown groups. Ola.

So, the first one is less garage-y than this one, although this is also extremely psychedelic. Rocky, I recommend both of them to you. This is perhaps my album of the year. Giubbo: I prefer "Rock It to the Moon" over "Axes" by Electrelane, which, to be honest, don’t excite me that much. However, I admit I've listened to them a little and poorly. I was about to buy the latest Black Lips album, but I had already purchased 8 new releases in two days and decided it was better to stop. Anyway, Antmo will lend it to me soon. If you don’t want to download both, Kosmo, try to find "Year Zero" and you’ll see that you’ll flip off your chair! Here are the samples.
