I found a couple of gems on krautrock that I recommend: all the Cosmic Jokers, UFO by Guru Guru, Tarot by Walter Wegmüller, and Join Inn by Ashra Tempel. Even without the joints, they’ll blow your mind.

Hey old man, try to listen to these residuals, they have something interesting to say.

For me, they don't have much to do with metal either, but maybe the reviewer was referring to the heavy guitar riffs. Anyway, the album is worth it just for "In a Gadda", the rest is little more than a trifle even when compared to similar groups of the time. I connect "In a Gadda" to the final scenes of Manhunter - Fragments of a Murder, the prequel to The Silence of the Lambs.

where would it be written that comments have a character limit? do you perhaps feel provoked about the issue of review lengths? I'm not saying it should be a hard and fast rule; many albums need more lines, but in my opinion, it would be good manners to write no more than 2500 characters, spaces included. that's all.

So when you wrote the review, Luca, the best one was the one for "Zaireeka," because it tried not to be excessively descriptive and kept within the fucking 1800-2000 characters (does anyone know that it’s clearly stated in the disclaimer?). At most, Moro's review was nice for how it turned Syd's fairy-tale lyrics into a little story. So we're still at two. That’s why yours was overwhelmed with criticism. In my opinion, this one by Syderus doesn’t say much because it doesn’t convey much. I understand you wrote a paper, so are you endorsing my thesis of publishing just to be praised by someone? I don’t want to say you did it in bad faith; some things you write are interesting, but you’ve kept yourself on an unreasonable length and your prose is anything but smooth. But I'm not here to criticize how people write; I'm nobody to do that. What I hope is that you, Syderus, write well and a lot, but about things that no one else has written anything about. Otherwise, in my opinion, you won’t have understood a damn thing. Do you think that after two and a half years in here I haven't wanted to write my own thoughts on Syd? It was the first serious album I got, and it changed me and the music I listened to. But even two years ago, there was a review, so I left it alone out of respect and modesty—something that many here lack. I can still be happy because you write with knowledge of the subject, which is already a lot given the new figures who are terribly brainless wandering around these days.

With my comment, I wasn't directly criticizing this review; I also prefer 5000 reviews of this masterpiece over the punisher that tears apart crappy records that destroy themselves just to get attention. However, since those reviews aren't there, I can't say anything. And if we add triple reviews, you can understand how one might get fed up. Plus, I've probably read 100 reviews of this album in my life, and allow me to say I'm a bit tired of it, but that's just a personal observation.

oh Nick, how long!! Still up there in perfidious Albion? Damn, it’s been a while since you were about to move up. Man, it feels like a lifetime ago when I was in Tokyo... time flies. Here are the samples.

I'll explain it to you, Luca lj, with a question: what do you believe is the function of this site or similar ones? For me, it’s to introduce new music to those who don’t know it. I’ve discovered a mountain of bands on Debaser over the past two and a half years. Back when there were only a few of us reviewing, there were practically no duplicates, and that's fine for the duplicates. Then the site spread like wildfire, and everyone stopped caring about the reviews that were already there. The problem, in my opinion, is that given the sheer number of new reviews that come in daily, if someone sends in duplicate or triple reviews, they take up space that could be used for reviews of things I might not know about, which disappear from the main page within a day. And this pisses me off. It pisses me off because, instead, many of you newcomers (nothing wrong with that) hide behind saying it’s nice to have more different perspectives on a great album. I would add a maximum of two, or else it's time for a hand amputation. And nothing stops me from thinking that many are just looking for their usual fifteen minutes of fame and visibility, and that’s it, but no one will ever admit it to me or to themselves.

Well, I don't know, but do you all feel the need to write about albums that have already been reviewed multiple times and that everyone knows by heart? Then, come on, you're so modest, comparing yourself to David Allen of Gong. To be honest, I know enough about Pink Floyd by myself to avoid these three scrolls, but that's not the point. I understand revisiting fundamental albums reviewed with a total lack of depth, but it seems to me that, for example, the review of Zaireeka by Piper was excellent, also because it wasn't overly technical. Well, do as you please, but you are ruining the site.

I've always wanted to know what fur was like, but I never delved into it. Then a friend of mine recommended this, and I have to say the effect has been devastating. Aware that it won't last long, I really bought this record.
