Kaleidoscope (UK) Tangerine Dream

finally you've reviewed yourself! at this point, a nickname change and a virtual suicide would be fitting. I'll read the review after Lewis. a very nice album, not a masterpiece in every sense, but a minor masterpiece, with fabulous tracks, the singles "a dream for julie" and "flight from ashiya," but also the 7 minutes of the final track and "kaleidoscope" do not joke around.

I'm glad you know them. In fact, I think you know them from the cover of TV Eye on Sucking the 70's, right? This is American Exhaust; you need to get the latest one, it repeats itself a bit.

Black Lips Black Lips!

I have the pretazzo edition, which isn't great considering the altered tracklist. It seems to be from Collectables Records. There's a luxury hardcover Akarma edition, but I have no idea about the tracklist.
Faust Faust IV [Remastered]

I don't understand why Cope doesn't include it among the recommended ones, strange! He's much better as a writer and music journalist than as a musician. For me, Teardrop is one of the three worst albums I own. It may seem blasphemous, but for me it borders on ridiculous.
Electric Wizard Supercoven/Burnout/Chrono.naut/Chrono.naut Phase II(Chaos Revealed)

supercoven and chrononaut are the favorite albums of the wizards. maybe because they are less doom and more acid and elongated. burnout always gets me really high.
Afghan Whigs Gentlemen

I left my heart on this record. I was swept away by the Seattle wave from age 15 to 18, and the video for gentlemen (or debonair) with Winona Ryder making out with Dulli made me hate him and the band. I bought it last year because the cassette self-destructed years ago. Great memories.

I've been listening to it non-stop for a couple of days now, and I find it a bit more monotonous than "Under Side" and "Everybody Knows"... (I profess ignorance regarding the early albums). Or rather, it’s much more straightforward, and there are few trippy tracks. Even the two final bricks, a quarter of an hour each, don’t hit the mark; they seem a bit filler for the final runtime. And then that damn snare drum à la Fugazi doesn’t fit, in my opinion, precisely because it reminds me of a great band that has little or nothing to do with Fuzz Echo and our various effects. The very British voice is brilliant, though. Ultimately, a band that’s hard to position in the heavy psych landscape, which is nonetheless a huge strength nowadays.

I found out about this reissue yesterday. I hope to get it as soon as possible since I only have one copy of this and it's quite terrible.
