MC5 Kick Out The Jams

Come on, don’t tell me you don’t laugh when you hear how "Back in the USA" is recorded compared to this and "High Time." Of course, we’re still talking about some beautifully fragrant and perfumed shit. But even according to them, the sound was somewhat imposed in the studio. To make a long story short, the memory of the real MC5 is this live, no bullshit.

I still like the previous Ahw My Gawd!! at least when it comes to the acidity level.

I agree with the beauty of Caroline, it leaves you breathless! I'm really enjoying it a lot along with the second one these days.

yatha sidra can also be found at fnac, where they have an infinite amount of 60's stuff that is hard to come by. Does the 23 still exist? Together with discofrisco in Treviso, they had prices like bootleg CDs even 10 years ago. I remember new CDs by motorpsycho bought for 20000 lire. Good times.

I don’t understand why, instead of arguing (the criticism wasn’t aimed at you, but at the new trends in music criticism as a whole), you shield yourself with a presumed aura of superiority. At least that’s what I gather from your serene response. I’ve only had this one by the Holy Modal, and I don’t lack anything by the Velvet except for the live album, but anyway, we’re not here to determine who has or knows more, at least not me. I repeat that my intervention was intended to be broad-ranging; I don’t usually waste my time criticizing well-argued reviews for personal reasons. Yes, in short, we’re here to discuss, and if someone takes issue with you, don’t think that every criticism is always directed at you or motivated by personal hatred. Mine was a curiosity aimed at understanding your point of view; maybe I would learn something I didn’t know, and my opinion could change. We’re here for that. But you’ve entrenched yourself in your castle of knowledge, at least in this case. Do as you wish, of course.

Fuck, I remember that cover in Tokyo at the garage section of my favorite shop. I'll read it later, Lewis.

Well, one of those records whose listening, as usual, benefits the mind but not the heart. In the sense of hitting the intellect more than the soul. Music that I find cold, even though it's recorded with the fervor of a live session, which communicates almost nothing to me. For heaven's sake, I could force myself to like it, but it wouldn’t be the same. However, let's say I might try to give it a second chance. For now, it remains more of a flash in the pan than a blast furnace of ideas as they're made to seem in all the post analyses. I don't understand in what way they anticipated the Velvet. Did they merge pop art, installations, and live improvisations? From what I heard on "indian war whoop," there are very few similarities at least in terms of music. I imagine you mean in terms of the conception of music. But even here, I don't see the connection.

I finally downloaded it, but it still leaves me perplexed. A bit monotonous for now, maybe it will grow.

From how they talk to me about this record, I realized they don't know a thing. It reminds me of the parallel Misunderstood/High Tide in terms of diversity of styles. Is that right?

I've wanted to have them for a year now, but I keep forgetting to download them. I didn't know they were the July before. Damn, I really should buy July; their first album is a little gem.
