Peter Jackson The Lord Of The Rings

In my opinion, there’s no “middle ground” when it comes to judgments about this film. Those who haven't read the book and view it with a critical eye hate it, and, I admit, rightfully so. Slow, sometimes nonsensical, with a story of friendship that seems like the prelude to a gay-zoophilia film, and a fragmented and inconclusive plot. Those who (like me) have read the book many times, both as a child and as an adult, unfortunately can't analyze it objectively. Sure, many characters are terrible (the choice of Bloom/Legolas ruins one of the central characters from the book; only Aragorn and Gandalf hold up), but such a precise representation of settings and battles is more than what a Tolkien lover could have imagined. For me, the first film remains the only one constructed well enough; the other two have screenplay holes (due to both their errors and the challenging adaptation of the two books) and are even more boring. Let's say that on an emotional level, it gets a 5/5 from me; if I have to be objective, it doesn’t go beyond a 3/3, and the others deserve a solid 2/2, I must say. Anyway, Jackson has done excellent work; my favorite remains "Meet the Feebles" (sorry, it's only available in the original language), a delirious film with Muppet-like puppets where, amidst dismemberments, sex, and various drugs, it will give you an hour and a half of fun.

To be precise, in '65 the Sonics had already recorded. My point wasn't about release timelines. It was purely about the music. Which I repeat seems to have aged worse than stuff from around the same time. And I repeat, listening to it back then would surely have had a different effect, of course.

Welcome back, mate, I've missed you in the review desert lately. And you even made me laugh and forget that tomorrow I have to go to work. And then, damn, I think I actually like this Bethancourt record too.

I WAS LISTENING TO IT AGAIN LAST NIGHT, OR RATHER I SHOULD SAY LISTENING TO IT SERIOUSLY. I MUST SAY IT DOESN'T DISPLEASE ME AT ALL, I MIGHT JUST TAKE IT.

I think this album is overrated... or rather, it's this record that's overrated. I like it, it calms me, but it sounds so much older than half of the contemporary production. It sounds older than the Beatles, the Kinks, the early Floyd, all the garage stuff, the Grateful, and so on. And of course, I don't want to compare the aforementioned bands to each other; each one plays its own game. But unfortunately, Punisher is right, it would have been something to hear with virgin ears at the time. Unfortunately, I was born ten years later; maybe my cousin remembers it, but I don't know.
The Stooges The Weirdness

I heard a song on Pitchfork and it seemed quite pointless to me. The point is that continuing to "be" the Stooges of the past comes off as rather ridiculous. Adolescence or early youth filled with anger and rejection of a certain America, concepts expressed back then, now inevitably sound anachronistic when spoken by the same characters. It’s much better to see them live with the old songs. They still outshine the vast majority of so-called r'n'r today, as I wrote in the review of the 2003 concert.
Ferzan Ozpetek Saturno contro
Voto:
I'm sorry, but the only Ozpetek product I saw was Le fate ignoranti, which at the time was marketed as a masterpiece. I may be ignorant about this (I think I am, as I often have vague tastes when it comes to cinema), but it struck me as devastatingly banal. Moreover, his obsession with Maxibon (how nice, I also call that bum Accorsi like that forever) doesn’t make him any more likable to me nor likely to be worth watching. On the other hand, I really regret not having seen Inland by Lynch, since I had rewatched Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive multiple times (the latter three times at the cinema, which is a bit excessive, I'd say).

really beautiful this NIB review. Unfortunately, I have scattered pieces and little familiarity with old blues. I should get informed, especially since CDs cost a fortune.
Seid Among the Monster Flowers Again

Unfortunately, the group is on hold indefinitely. In the meantime, they released a couple of months ago the new album "creatures of the underworld." I don't know if I should review it; honestly, it's quite a bit inferior to this one, not because it's poorly played (these guys are monsters, no doubt about it), but because it feels less evocative and more conventionally prog. However, there are a lot of interesting Middle Eastern and Balkan influences. But damn, this album is one of my favorites in the new psych scene.
