In your egocentric delusions (typical during the first year in here, the average length of stay for many present on this page), you've missed the best comment I've come across in here for about a year and a half, let's say two (the best period of DeB): "I didn't like the movie. Just another American thing: the plot is too predictable, and then the fact that in the end the protagonist comes back to life suggests a sequel. The book is much better." Thank you, you made me smile in the morning, which is practically impossible. P.S. I completely agree with what you write later; friends who study pre-Iranian civilizations always remind me of the lack of concrete historical evidence regarding Christ.

I agree Zion, I've never been able to stand those from Blow Up, they seem like a bunch of 25-year-olds acting like they're grandparents, and in fact, you can see it from the albums of the month they feature. The more obscure, the cooler it is; that seems to be the criterion. Kind of like pitchforkmedia. Well, not that the rest of the magazines are doing any better, eh...

Enlighten me, people. I remember there were also controversies at the time about the veiled antisemitism of the film. Someone told me it was because of the famous phrase "Il mio sangue ricadrà su di voi!" said towards the gathered Rabbis. Sorry, but I have vague memories of Catechism and I'm trying to shake those off quickly.

noooo singing asshole?????? I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO SEE IT!!!! Moreover, from what you write, the soundtrack seems interesting. The most I've seen a hole do in a movie (that isn't explicitly pornographic) is looking at itself (watching Splatter _Lo Schizzacervelli). I've seen people having sex with corpses and yelling "You're Coming" at the dead body, only to realize that the poor corpse had shit itself and rigor mortis had trapped the hardware inside (Visitor Q by Miike Takashi - and I won't even tell you how to get out of that situation). I’m definitely looking for it.

A friend of mine, a drum'n'bass DJ, says he's a genius and has been recommending him to me for a while. But I worship the dear quadrilateral of guitar-bass-drums-voice, and although I am a pantheist at heart, I struggle to reconcile the two professions of faith. However, I also like the bans of O that the Scandinavians use.

At the time of its release, I wasn't in Europe, so watching it with Japanese subtitles wasn't exactly recommended. My girlfriend wants to show it to me because, even though it caused her diarrhea, she says the gore scenes are well done. The thing that struck me the most about this film (even though I repeat I haven't seen it) is that I've been told there were people moved during the movie... insidiously dangerous. Kudos to the reviewer for reminding us that guilt and redemption are Catholic pillars. I am still feeling its influence, even though I’ve been an atheist for 15 years. I want to add that I see nothing wrong in treating a sacred story in a secular way. Also, because for me, there's not much that is sacred about it.

beautiful, slow but beautiful, it didn't bore me at all and the soundtrack is truly deserving. Honestly guys, I don’t know how anyone can like that huge piece of junk Ghost Dog, for me it’s a real fall from grace. But what does the gangster shooting off two nonsense lines from the book of five rings represent for me? File Under: Clichés about the East for the use and consumption of Western orientalists. It almost approaches the ugliness of Lost in Translation.

I had a big obsession with vampirism. From a folkloric point of view, there isn't a tradition as vast as they want us to believe. However, literature and entertainment have built everything around it; think about it, I was really into vampire tabletop role-playing games, definitely a real "addiction" for 4 years.

I agree, I don't understand why two identical films would be released at the same time. My memory as a viewer feels decidedly offended. Anyway, The Prestige positively impressed me. I went in with no expectations; in fact, I thought it would be a flop, but instead it turned out to be one of the few pseudo-thrillers where I didn’t see the twist coming until just 2 minutes before it was revealed. In its own way, it's a rarity in today’s thriller landscape, where everything is cliché and predictable even from the trailers. And then Christian Bale is really great, not to mention Bowie playing Tesla, brilliant!

I didn't know they were showing that movie the other night, mierda! I really like Ferrara, and The Addiction is an amazing metaphysical film about vampirism with a always unsettling Walken. Does anyone know it?
