It might interest me too, my friend. However, the yawning man stay a bit too true to their name and they come off as a little boring, leading to the fateful yawn. In the genre, the mammatus aren't bad, but I see the stoner heavy psych scene as a bit of a dying idea. We'll see...

very interesting, I had researched gris gris while doing the rec for deb of the homonymous Texas group. It’s also interesting how voodoo is the latest evolution of cults imported by slaves from the West African coast first to Brazil (where it’s called candomblé) and then up to the Caribbean and the Mississippi Delta. Eco paints an interesting portrait of this in The Name of the Rose.

I was downloading it this weekend, I only know Electric Wizard well, I listened to Mogwai 10 years ago, but after "Come on Die Young" I gave up because they brought too much bad luck.

together with Kanguru by Guru Guru (look for yourself Free Pages Personnelles: Erreur 404 - Document non trouvé I think it's the ugliest cover in the history of rock (the girl was the granddaughter of one of them, maybe Winwood). Unfortunately, it always kept me away from listening to it. But excuse me, what does "a guitar riff in the style of Eric Clapton" even mean? If Clapton is in the band, I believe the riff is "in the style of Clapton"! Damn, even the Sabbath albums are full of solos in the style of Iommi.

I, on the other hand, have completely lost the charm of anime; I prefer a few films, and the series I've happened to watch suck. I'm not talking about the content (which is increasingly less stereotypical and surely broader), but about the graphic style. Character design is no longer very distinctive among animators. Damn, Reiji Matsumoto and Rumiko Takahashi could never be confused even by mistake! You, Doll, belong to a generation (as I understand, since you mention fansubbed, which presumes the internet era; Bartle and I are talking about '90-91) that has grown up and been permeated by manga and anime culture, with the first real explosion occurring after the birth of Kappa Edizioni (94/95) from the ashes of Granata Press, and then with the advent of Marvel first and Panini later, leading to anime different from ours. I also grew up on cartoons; my earliest memories include the theme song of Gundam and the first Lupin, but my passion hasn't translated into an attachment to current animated series. In this, your generation (unless you made an enormous generational blunder!) is more attentive and informed. What do you mean by trash series?

Kurosawa was a director, not a scholar of literature. I’m not saying that the Gorin No Sho, or the Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi, is not foundational to samurai ethics. I’m just pointing out that there have been doubts about its historical veracity. Let’s remember that before 1868, Japan was a semi-unknown place to Westerners, closed off from any external influence since the Battle of Sekigahara in 1615, and suddenly found itself facing a world that had transformed from medieval to industrial. To combat the impact of technological and cultural evolution, which would lead to the disintegration of Japanese cultural and social fabric, it seems they rushed to create, in some cases artfully, a historical background that was superior to what actually existed. A prime example is the Genji Monogatari (dated around 1000), the first novel in the history of Japanese literature, which seems to have been backdated and completed much later than that. In short, this is what I have to say about the samurai. Regarding the film, degustibus, it seemed to me like it was made after a superficial binge on the East, pulling out the usual clichés that even the Japanese no longer believe in. And many of the things written in the Gorin No Sho contributed to the racist and monolithic fervor of Fascist Japan – let’s not forget that.

But wasn't there already???? I personally like this one (that I got for Christmas) much better than Sacrifice, which sometimes just makes me laugh. Yes, it's an album I can't take seriously, especially when they start chanting "Come To the sabbat Satan's there." So, aside from the themes, the music is anything but unsettling. First utterance sometimes gives me genuine feelings of unease. Of course, it's just personal opinions.

You’ve done one of the longest stretches in history towards the easier second part... but are you by any chance reading essays on postmodernism? Nice anyway.

Indeed, I am not an electrophile, so I notice the sycophancy, but it doesn’t drive me crazy and I let it go. Something I can’t do, for example, with the Horrors since I often listen to the garage and I have a bit of knowledge about it. Maybe try downloading "tribulations" from the previous one; I’m curious to know if you find it overly derivative or not.
