Well done with the opening; you nailed the connection between Hinduism and Buddhism. In fact, the concept of karmic retribution is borrowed from early Hinduism. In the end, all religions draw from one another, and many (including Buddhism and partially Hinduism) stem from proto-Zoroastrian religions. Damn, I suddenly feel like getting back to studying and selling myself as a religious mediator for the United Nations...

nice choice flower, sometimes I was afraid they would ask me for schei just to walk by. If you can't find a place, even the Corte Sconta in Casteo isn’t to be underestimated, small place, you spend a ton but it's good.

I’ve been out of the anime world since 2003, more or less, after spending two years reading every possible essay on the subject for my thesis… I had a rejection crisis. I saw Paprika in a shopping center, and I think anime-loving friends had spoken well about it. Just think that I saw Innocence in Tokyo when I was living there, and it bored me quite a bit; it flopped back home too, but that doesn’t count because Oshii, like Otomo, are considered “directors for Westerners,” and they get attention there because we paid attention to them. Flows and reflows of culture...

I've always been drawn to the cover; I've always respected Wyatt for being one of the few musicians of the time who openly expressed his political inclinations, for better or worse, before it became fashionable in punk. And it’s quite an ironic cover, reminiscent of when Keith Moon would show up dressed as the Führer for interviews. Anyway, I still prefer the first one; O Caroline and Signed Curtain (whose lyrics are absolutely genius!) drive me crazy. On the fact that Eno, Wyatt, and Fripp represent the peak of Music, I don't completely agree, but everyone sees it their own way. More than anything, I can't separate Music from music. I mean, the idea that there is high and low music doesn't do any good for music. There is music that we like and music that we don't, but fortunately, there is no objective measure that isn't debatable when it comes to interpreting and judging music. Anyway, great rec.

I agree with cpt, for the time this work came from the moon. It's obvious that with the budget (kudos to ajeje for mentioning this, Studio Ghibli, with the success of Mononoke abroad, exponentially increased their resources, and after the Oscar even more) the level of detail is something that’s almost bothersome (especially in Howl) and this definitely enhances the overall impact. Tokyo Godfathers by Kon is indeed one of the best anime of recent years, also because in the original it really makes you laugh! It’s a shame that among these famous ones, the good Oshii is producing works that are not up to par, just look at Innocence.

In Japan, there has practically been no moral change in the regime; the Emperor is still celebrated and honored, and he is still considered a direct descendant of the goddess Amaterasu, thus divine. The message to the nation disseminated after the surrender was, moreover, not understood by almost the entire nation. The imperial court still uses an archaic Japanese that was unthinkable even at the time, and now even more so. It's as if our head of state were speaking in Latin or Ancient Greek, just to illustrate the gap.
