I work for a wine company in the Marche region, mainly taking care of the foreign market. In fact, I hope to visit an importer located right in Napa Valley soon. Let’s say I’ve been pretty lucky; the pay isn’t amazing, but I get to travel and the wine environment isn’t too bad.

Well, the problem of combining grape varieties with personality is a relatively short puzzle if the Americans do it... there are only 8 international grape varieties, so we would end up with only eight types. If we add in blends, that’s a different story! It would be much more interesting to do this in Europe where there are so many indigenous grape varieties. I would really love to be a pure Montepulciano or a nice Ribolla Gialla. I've wanted to make a wine-based track for some time now, but inspiration is lacking, even though I actually work with wine.

I need to re-listen to Blues Control; they're a bit tough for the moment. But it will take some time before I figure out if I like them.

I should read it, yours are always interesting for the references more than for the music, I think mainly because of differences in taste. Anyway, you made me think of at least the beginning when I discovered that "robot" comes from the verb to work in Czech, or am I wrong? Isn't the root Russian? Well, I've always been hopeless at philology, even when I had to study it for exams. I speak languages, but I can’t study them in their constituent elements and in their relationships; it bores me.

I’ve been wanting to delve into (actually, I’d say start) the topic of Fela Kuti for a while now. I only know the character and his not insignificant adventures. Any recommendations?

@ghemi: I have Aman Iman by Tinariwen, but it doesn’t drive me crazy; I'm not very world music oriented. I really like a mix like these Grails. But I’ll try to download it. Thanks!

flying comment after diving at sea: to be honest, Ghemi, it's clear that I haven't written in a while; this rec doesn't appeal to me that much. I don't have a background in ethnomusicology, but I've studied shamanism enough, so I've thought a bit more in terms of connections than real knowledge of the music-religion subject. @sfascia: I don't want to say nonsense, but it seems I read they had some connections with the Neurot groups. @Third: I read at least 10 years ago the wonderful essay by De Martino on the Taranta; generally speaking, De Martino was the greatest representative of anthropology we can boast about. @Odra: it's not that placid; it has some nice pissed-off progressions!

I think this is a kids' movie that holds up better than Goonies, Howard the Duck, or other trashy films. As I said, it depends on how much you watched them as a child. But the soundtrack is brilliant!
