Black Sabbath The Dio Years
Voto:
"I can't even imagine what they would have been if behind that microphone there had been a Halford, an Alice Cooper, or even better, a Glenn Hughes or a Tony Martin." I'll tell you what they would have been: they definitely wouldn't have been the Sabbath. In other words, the Sabbath had a following ALSO because of Osbourne's dyslexic voice. If it hadn't been for him, Dio would have been herding sheep instead of replacing him. The Sabbath without Ozzy is like saying that if instead of Plant there had been Nick Drake, they would have been better. In short, it's science fiction, and of low quality.

So, for the same principle, You Should Be Dancing, do we want to compare it to Scum by Napalm Death? Well, if you prefer Dio to Ozzy, that says it all...

Strangely, this is my first comment on a review of this album; I had completely avoided the flood of reviews since October 10th. My initial reaction was terrible, but then I realized that this album was oddly growing on me, and in the end, I bought it two weeks ago. And I don't regret it. I like it more than Hail, though I don't know if it will stand the test of time (practically nothing does anymore). The arrangements are very minimal (even if there's a remarkable amount of work behind the sounds) and let's say "subdued." However, it has brought me back to Radiohead, who had really been getting on my nerves for the past three years. Yes, I was tired of listening to a Radiohead album and then feeling like I had just walked out of a psychotherapist's office.
Elio e Le Storie Tese Studentessi

"If one goes beyond the nonsensical and absurd lyrics, one can appreciate the skill of this group." In my humble opinion, if you remove the lyrics, Elio becomes an endless pain in the neck. Regardless of their technical abilities, what always saves Elio in the end is precisely the absurdity. Take that away, and you might as well be listening to Mars Volta (just to throw out a name randomly, of course). Anyway, what leaves me perplexed is reading things like: "we've returned to the glory days of Eat The Phikis"... but why do you consider Eat a cool album? I don't know, maybe it's because I listened to them at 12 with Cara Ti Amo and then Rum Casusu, but from then on the ideas seemed a bit lacking. I admit at least the video with Maccio Capatonda is entertaining (but the song sucks). And to be honest, I've noticed that Elio has a dedicated and loyal following, especially among Lombards, especially for the last albums (everyone I know has Rum Casusu, but few have the rest of the albums).

Unfortunately, in my opinion, the violence in Woo's films is anything but "presumed." And honestly, it makes them less appealing to me in certain instances. I mean, Woo's decent production (that is, the Hong Kong period) remains, for me, an example of genre cinema, certainly later copied by everyone, especially the action scenes, but not just by him upon closer inspection (let's think of the series Once Upon A Time In China, for example). Therefore, I can't consider him on the same level as well-rounded directors. As for the big/small cinema debate, it could be discussed for years, but it's always mediated by personal tastes.

I want to see him dead, NOW!!!! Never seen anything more stupid or hilarious... actually, thinking about it, morton wouldn't serve any purpose, let's hope he lives on and makes me have good laughs at work for the years to come.

"But really, did any publishing house have the courage to put this abomination on the market???" Are you reviewing a book or a record? Do you hear or read this stuff? And above all: IS THE GUY ON THE COVER A CARDBOARD CUTOUT OR DOES HE REALLY EXIST? I sincerely hope for the former, because otherwise humanity is doomed to premature extinction.

In fact, I started with a better tomorrow aired around '91 by that crazy Ghezzi on Fuori Orario.
