I'm going tonight too, I avoided the weekend crowd... to catch the one after the Oscars! A film without morals for a book without morals. I hope. And long live no happy endings.

here's Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid are the trio of diarrhea for me, everything that made me give up on all Disney products from ages 14 to 26. And then The Lion King is a rip-off of Kimba by Osamu Tetsuka. They should kiss the feet of Pixar, down to the last employee in the organizational chart.

I used to snub everything that came out of Disney because of that damn feel-good morality (I only watched anime). But ever since Pixar arrived, I had to change my mind. Every year gets better. For me, their masterpiece remains The Incredibles, truly incredible, both for its technique and especially for its credibility and action-movie pacing. Fantastic. In my opinion, this one comes right after it; as a former restaurant worker, I enjoyed it immensely. The dynamics and movements of the kitchen are perfectly reproduced. And there’s a good dose of inspiration drawn from chef Anthony Bourdain’s books (especially Kitchen Confidential - "I once killed a man with this thumb!").

Good to see you again, don. I was about to get this used months ago, but I opted for the much-acclaimed White Light instead. Which has been sitting around for months gathering dust, guilty of causing me multiple episodes of sleepwalking at the wheel and two near misses. At this point, since I can barely handle the Byrds (and I CAN'T STAND the country ones from Sweetheart), I’d say that Clark and I are done without even having really started. Sorry.

Bronson is worthy of praise, yes, but for heaven's sake, they should move him to a place where civilization has already arrived; that would be better. In April, it took me an hour and 20 minutes from Ravenna to Madonnadell'albero because no one knew where the hell that place was!!! I give a rating of 1 to Ravenna's traffic department! I've been meaning to get Jack Rose for a while now.

Watched it on Friday completely fried. An almost extrasensory experience (at one point I lost track of time, it felt like I had been inside since the dawn of time). The beginning is something magnificent, with a delirious use of music (some info about the soundtrack). I agree with the similarity to Lewis's performance in Gangs, perhaps even too much. And the scene with the burning well is etched in my iris for two days! However, in my opinion, it loses steam in the second half. Maybe I'm a biased viewer, but it's hard for a film with such a subtle script (telling this film feels like telling a joke, so few are the things that happen) to hold up for 2 hours and 45 minutes. By the end, I felt a bit fatigued, perhaps precisely because it was too centered on Lewis, too much for me.

Damn, just when the six organs of admittance come on the 23rd at Bronson in Ravenna, but also in Milan and Turin. What a fucked up choice, the 26th is a Tuesday, bad move! Hey, if they play (or rather if Amber sings like this) this time I'm definitely going to see them:

In fact, I got this at the end of January before I realized I was broke... indeed, it’s the last album I bought... oh, and then the purchase is sometimes compulsive; if it’s too calculated, how the hell is this consumer society supposed to survive?

The sudden guitar in "Bright Lights" at my place continues to cause eruptions of diarrhea for me and the neighbors. And it remains the least interesting episode. The rest I like a lot, it's lasting longer than I thought. Hopefully they'll come live again, I'd gladly see them again.
