"Why does one end up writing 'I digest the avant-garde badly'?" Are you upset with me? Because from what little I’ve heard, it gave me impressions that were already argued above, namely the need to inform oneself to understand. I don’t flaunt my intolerance for it, nor do I vilify those who enjoy listening to it. So what do you want? For me to falsely gush about Ligeti, La Monte, or whoever else? No, I won’t do it, and I never will. You like it, fine; I don’t, and I hope that’s okay. I don't consider those who appreciate the avant-garde to be intellectual pretenders (even though many become so against their will at times), nor do I see those who don’t appreciate it as bumpkins (even though many have their blinders and ears closed a priori).

First, I call you an asshole for stealing it from me, then I read it, and finally I change my mind and tell you that you did absolutely right to do it. They are devastating!

cod sperm: that is, the formidable Japanese "shirako," fish sperm (+ from pufferfish or monkfish, but in my opinion, they don't hold back). Ingrandisci questa immagine

Well, shoveling crap on King Crimson (especially on those from the first album) is pure science fiction. Philip K. Dick gives you a headache.

In my opinion, Silas already shows signs of repetition (and since it’s highly derivative, that’s not a good thing). Nice, but too '60 and more '80 revival of the '60s (still Opal but too Echo & The Bunnymen for my taste). Some interesting pieces, but it lacks the singles from this, First Vietnamese War, Sniper, and the opening track. Then again, to each their own; I was thinking of writing a few lines about it, but I decided it might not be worth it.

I agree with super, the little homework is well done but it lacks any sense of pathos. However, the photos of the guy (the real one) from the '70s are fantastic—perfect for making a t-shirt.

Mom Grace! I’ve never heard the Great Society, so now I’m going to listen to the original versions of White Rabbit and Somebody.
