L'Ira del Baccano Si Non Sedes Is - Live MMVII

Indeed, I agree, panic; I don't make definitive judgments, it would be worth listening to the whole albums, but it doesn't seem to me that there are any geniuses around. Then again, maybe it's my damn fascination with foreign things. Oh, and then there are groups that just don’t go well together, like caramel on oysters.

Are you checking what I'm listening to on Lastfm right now???? I mean, I'm listening to Spectrum and the BLACK HOLLIES!!! And I was just about to write a review for both! Well, let's just say that Spectrum is really great in my opinion; I'm going to buy it on amazon.fr. Black Hollies are super ultra mega derivative, but I found them for €3.5, so I grabbed them. They’re definitely fresh and silly, my summer record it was! I left the Freeks on the shelf last week; I heard mixed reviews and haven't managed to download them yet. Oh, check out the Black Hollies video so you get an idea: ERROR: The request could not be satisfied

Oh, I almost forgot to recommend Spectrum Meets Capt. Memphis - Indian Giver, which is old recordings by a guy from Spacemen 3, better than the orchestral digressions taken from the other with Spiritualized (damn, I can't remember the names anymore, Pierce and Sonic Boom, right?).

Are you by any chance on the Perkele forum? No, because a user there has the album logo as their signature... Anyway, I'll try to check it out, but I don't agree with the conditions of the Italian scene. By the way, a friend of mine gave me the cd Italian Psych Heavy Sound (or something similar) published by Go Down Records, a decent local label. He plays in one of the bands featured. Well, I couldn't make it to the end more than once. If that's the situation, we’re in bad shape instead. I notice especially zero ideas, or rather zero originality. I don't know, I'll have to listen to it more, but it all seemed very flat to me, even flagship groups like El Thule (who at least are good live).

Sorry Laggio, but I'm going from memory (which has been shaky lately): in Good Vibrations, all I hear is a Theremin, not a synth. As for the USA, it seems to me that there was a significant use of cut-up (almost like sampling) and the ring modulator invented by Byrd, but not a synth. Oh, and maybe I just don't understand anything and can't recognize a synth, which can't be ruled out.

But hey, I was just listening to it in the car earlier during my lunch break (but I was alone). The other day I played it for my daughter, and the result was a disjointed and nervous cry, followed by a nice mess afterwards. So maybe they come in handy. @Fest: On Trial very Love, I agree, so much so that I have a cover of A House Is Not A Motel made by them! Endless Boogie: they really got on my nerves, I went from wanting to buy them to almost not being able to listen to them. If it lasted half the time (i.e., always 37 minutes compared to the over 70 of the record) it would be a nice thing; the idea of doing a blues rock mix of Stooges, Rolling Stones, and Neu! is great, but it only lasts for three tracks (which together make almost 20 minutes!!). About Tucker, I understand he might not be for everyone; it should be listened to sparingly, it's a bit of dark and repetitive folk psychedelia (the boy's tone doesn't help). But does everyone have problems with Amazon? For me, everything arrives from the French one in a bit over a month. Absolutely efficient, at least the market sellers like caiman, Moviemars, Dvdlegacy, and the like. I'll note that blog fest and keep an eye on it.

@trell: Grails prices on amazon.fr: Burning Off €6.77 / Take Refuge €7.15 / Black Tar €21 and something (to avoid). It could be worse, come on! Anyone appreciates Hesperus by 5ive (please, no jokes, those aren't those 5ive, obviously...)

The only On Trial songs I like are New Day Rising, Forever, and I think there's another one, but the rest do practically nothing for me. And to be really picky, New Day doesn't drive me crazy anymore either... But for 8€, I'll buy the original! Instead, I'm calmly re-listening to the Grails, and they're becoming one of my favorite psychedelic bands. Oh, and I've been listening to Acrimony a lot these days; it has nothing to do with it, but I wanted to mention it.

Mizzega, the Blood Ceremony Fest is hitting me, it must be the heat, it must be my daughter crying, it must be going back to work, they are stressing me out. I still can't get past the second track, just from the flute solo onwards... I'll try again in November. The Summers are ten times better than Free Ride or the other one (definitely not much, well-played but not much). Perhaps the most mind-blowing stuff of this year is Portal by Alexander Tucker, and as soon as I find the inspiration, I’ll jot down a couple of lines. I'm not picking up much new stuff (aside from the aforementioned Tucker on vinyl and the Summers as soon as they're out), but I found Dadamah and On Trial - New Day Rising for a few euros on eBay.
