Yes Roof, I must admit that I'm becoming one-dimensional, monomaniacal; soon I’ll feel like nothing but a vinyl stuck in mono, and then I’ll go off the rails. I was brushing up on the music from 10 years ago and realized how, fortunately, at 22 I listened to a lot more diverse stuff: Massive Attack, Asian Dub, K&D, Jon Spencer, the Kurnalcool... now I feel like an old reactionary. But in the end, it's not even my fault; ten years ago, there was a lot less fluff (and much more time to listen to records).

segnati Fest, lately you've been my trusted source for tips! Chris should be taken with a grain of salt, just like Cope's comments on kraut... damn, yesterday I was listening to Galactic Supermarket by the Cosmic Jokers and I realized there are some horrible sounds on that record (the synth or whatever the hell it is) it's unbearable!

Did you know that Morgen used to blow my mind at first (I found it when I was in Tokyo four years ago) but I don't listen to it much anymore, the Dragonfly is better for example. But you've made me want to dust it off!

I was just looking yesterday at a hefty volume released last year, which I snagged with my Feltrinelli points (priced around €38 and maybe not even worth it) titled "All'ombra di Sgt Pepper" (here's a link with a little recap: Roberto Calabrò and I realized that when it comes to English psych before the '70s, not much appeals to me. Once the sounds become more rudimentary (let's say all those delightful things before hard rock), one starts to think. Otherwise, a lot of stuff is dispensable. For example, it's one of those rare cases where if you take the greats, you can afford to overlook the lesser ones. To be reductive, The Piper and two Beatles put half of the underground stuff to shame. But I'll jot down a few for you: the Deviants (the first three for sure, the best underground band of the time), the very solid The End, Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera, SF Sorrow by the Pretty Things, the last album by the Yardbirds, Tomorrow, maybe Misunderstood (though I know more garage than psych), Twink (but here we’re edging into the '70s), Sam Gopal by Lemmy. I can’t think of much more for now.

I will remember it imperishably (I can't write it down but I don't care), for this spontaneous declaration of hers before Freedom Run at the Bizarre in '95 "I feel like smokin' a big fat joint and dancin'..." or something like that.

I think I wrote it, it seems to me (or I already found lullabies that I avoided out of modesty). @Dissonance: well, one of the few who has the courage to admit that canonical stoner doesn't go beyond '98! I thought I was an alien. For goodness' sake, there are some good stoner things even now, but the psychedelic derivatives in general are interesting (like Colour Haze and the dancing company).

Well, I would say that we’re missing something like Pink Floyd, but I guess you wanted to make a top 3 of the "lesser-known" ones. Well, I’ll throw in The End, Tomorrow, and Kaleidoscope. The Fire ones from Magic Shoemaker are half-hearted.

what’s the point of fighting over the Hermano? Garcia has ended with the first Unida, the Hermano are unfortunately useless.
