that book (on which doubts about its actual dating have often been raised) I wrote it, I am Murasaki Shikibu in disguise! Jokes aside, I studied Japanese in Venice, which is why I know the shining prince (don't take it personally, but for me, he was clearly a homosexual, not a womanizer)

No, no, how can one curse the cradle of civilization! I absolutely didn't mean that; we're crazy! My comment was sarcastic and referred to long before organized religions were born, first pantheistic and then monotheistic. I was specifically referring to the cults of the Great Mother, which suddenly disappeared (according to some anthropo/archaeological theories related to the migration of peoples over the centuries) right around the time the nomadic peoples from the Asian steppes arrived. It's an interesting theory, especially since it attempts to explain the emergence of palisades and, in general, protective structures for villages, which were absent in the few settlements where traces of these fertility cults (identifying woman=earth=life) have been found. Nomadic peoples (of any origin, but it seems they spread throughout the world practically from the Asian steppes) are by nature linked to masculine, phallic deities—in a word, warrior gods. But not for ideological reasons, rather out of a mere instinct for survival. I'll skip the comment about the Canaanites. At most, they have the right to be angry for being driven from a land that was essentially theirs due to the diaspora. As for the lack of mutual dialogue, that's another matter, but it's such a multifaceted situation that I have no means (from here and not being Palestinian/Israeli) to express a sensible and not superficial opinion.

Strange Mike that you realize now the image of God in the Old Testament. Every once in a while I read some parts of it, once I even started making a chronology of the world according to the Old Testament, which lists the patriarchs along with their ages. Anyway, it’s quite obvious that, wanting to create a monotheism, or rather wanting to provide cultural unity to a "people" that was nothing else (if we take for historical such ancient sources, allegorical and battered by layers of subsequent translations) but a modern mix of ethnicities (at least regarding the escape from Egypt), the belief itself had to be as unitary and uncompromising as possible. Either with us or against us. Too bad that man, religiously speaking (let's say in the broadest sense of the term) has de-evolved, seeing that the first cults, those of the great mother, seem to have been quite syncretic, open, and not devoted to the conversion/destruction of the other. Damn nomadic peoples, I would say.

Damn, I completely missed this trell. And I was about to not kiss the cat's ass. This morning in the car, I kissed it but for a short time, and that little bit (up to 4) I really liked. Latent zoophilia???

I had Noriko's "from tokyo to niagara," which I liked, especially because it was low on pop and very ethereal. From how you describe this (and considering the terrible cover), it seems like it's taken a rather uninteresting turn pour moi. Quite a demanding nickname...

easy I love you! I agree on everything, but in the end I'm in good fake company, actually when you think about it there are much worse things, even among the many useless things I've been hearing (there's hardly any serious 60's or 80's wave musical revival, almost for corporate reasons). But you made me want to listen to them again.

I didn't want to write this myself, giubbo, to avoid coming off as the usual pain in the ass, but I think it's like this, without it being a problem or a fault, of course.

giubbo the indian I've decided that they're too wave for me, invasive exotics had some remarkable insights, but I’ve never managed to listen to this one all the way through... in the end, I gave up in August. The last of the howlin was well done but a warm-up in anticipation of the main course (if it ever comes out) which is the Comets. Matt Elliott I've never heard, and since it's recommended by ondarock, it's likely that I won't like it, but I'll try the previous one.

Chris is feeding me some nice bullshit, or rather I think there's nothing left to dig up in that musical period. The Pyramids you're talking about, I listened to them earlier this year and they weren’t bad, but I’m eagerly waiting for a new album... and those bastards played on October 18th in Italy (I think it was Bronson and I didn't know a thing!!!!!!!!!) besides playing on Ferragosto but in Tuscany.

I’m a nonsensical freeloader, Ramona, under the pseudonym Trapezohedron… unfortunately, I can’t upload from work, I have to do it at home, but when I get home it’s late, I eat, I take care of my girlfriend and newborn daughter, and there’s no time for nonsensical things… I’m about to listen to Baciare Il Culo del Gatto Nero recommended by Trell… but the name already terrifies me quite a bit.
