I'm in a nostalgic grunge period, and I've just repurchased this and Temple of the Dog (to which I'm even more attached, partly because that's where it all started for me). What can I say, at the time I somewhat snubbed this little disc, precisely due to the lack of decibels (I wasn't exactly known for my openness to different sounds back then). I realized a bit later just how interesting it was and how (finally) it moved away from the usual grunge poses or however the hell you want to call it.

Well, "pornoizu" could be the perfect definition for many tracks by Gerogerigegege, especially on Genbaku Onanist (the Atomic Onanist). If I'm not talking nonsense, the title track consists of a guy knocking on the door, and a typical polite, somewhat lolita-style Japanese girl opens it, asking him trivial questions like "What do you like to do in life?" and he replies breathlessly (being focused on the aforementioned onanism) MANKO DA! All of this is flavored with fake atomic explosions in the background. For the meaning of the word, look it up in the dictionary.

Look, it was also a bit of a coming-of-age novel for me at 16 in '93 (so you and I are practically registered). I re-read it for a semiotic analysis of a part of the text done at university, but it lost much of its charm. Paradoxically, over time I've started to appreciate more the visionary Murakami in his short stories; in fact, Odra, check out L'elefante scompare, which I think has finally been published in Italian. Some of the stories are beautiful, or at least that’s how I remember them.

I had missed this, Master Tollani. I'm not in a period of progghe or darcheprogghe, so I'll note it down and review it in the future.

Fuck, but how many Debaser fans were we in Verona in '93? I was there for the Pearl Jam and I remember them being quite anonymous.

When I have time, I read it super, but well done for filling a necessary gap! But this isn't the first one, right? The one with Love's Desire and the fabulous Za Za Zilda?

quick passage, thank you all for the stimulating comments. Regarding the Italy/abroad debate, I've already written about it; I think both approaches are wrong because, in the end, we should just listen to the music, period. But sometimes (I often do), you get caught up in it. @easy: I would have bet that they pissed you off! I feel like we talked about it years ago. Anyway, I can understand your point of view, the idea of going directionless, but if you take this album for what it is (so just by itself without considering the previous ones), in my opinion, it's valid. Then we'll see if it holds up over time; for now, I listen to it often. Bye!

Thank you, everyone. I’ll get back to you calmly as soon as I find a PC; anyway, the more I listen to it, the more I like this album.
