I also like Santa Teresa. I've always seen "Musicante" as one of Pino's rockiest albums, perhaps because of the power present in some tracks: "Keep on movin'", "Just in me", "Oi né", "Io ci sarò", "Acchiappa acchiappa". But it's true, it's the album where Pino's melancholy is expressed best.

Great review, damn... This album came out when I was born, but its notes resonate within me practically every day even if I don’t listen to it every morning. Perhaps there are other albums that, compared to this one, are more enjoyable and fun to listen to, but "Bella 'mbriana", objectively, is perhaps the best. Pino is a legend.

In general, I don't like live concerts, but in the case of Uncle Pino, it's a whole other story! The horn riff that opens "Chillo è nu buono guaglione" that fits perfectly with that bass line is the best I've ever heard in my entire life.. For nick81: "I have that record. It's 9 minutes of magic. Not to mention the guitar, which is beyond description." For misterno: "What do you know, maybe Marangolo's version is played better. When choosing tracks to include in a live album, they usually prefer those that turned out best, those with fewer imperfections, etc...".

Congratulations to Luca for the review. A guitarist’s opinions on another guitarist’s album are always interesting. The CD is outstanding, but as usual, I must emphasize that it’s impossible for me to prefer one album by uncle Pino over another.
Per primiballi: I know you’re taking shots at me when you talk about "Come un gelato all'Equatore." I have never (I believe) made the comparison with the early records; I just said that it’s far from being a throwaway, contrary to what the "old" fans think.

Sorry, I had given 5 to the record because I was thinking about "Bonne soiree". The 3 stays, there's nothing I can do about it.

It’s absolutely true that Pino was much more inspired in the past, but I don’t feel like joining this now universal disgust towards his more recent discography. In any case, year after year, he has managed to create things never done before, perhaps at a lower level yes, but still new and above all unique: let’s not forget that we live in a world where music is a general copy-copy. The experiments of "Come un gelato all'Equatore," the blues of "Un uomo in blues," the pop of "Dimmi cosa succede sulla Terra," the rock of "Bonne soiree," and the classical opera "Che Dio ti benedica" cannot be ridiculed just because they are inferior (?) to things done before. They still remain full of unique sounds and compositions. Pino’s decline began with "Passi d'autore" and "Iguana cafè" precisely because the experimentation ended, the tracks are all stylistically identical, and the sounds too, while before you could listen to two opposite poles like "Jesce juorno" and "Cry" on the same album. I’m not saying that inspiration is over, but Uncle Pino is beginning to resemble the average musician more and more, that’s the point. He is still a myth and will always be, but he was unique before, and now he is no longer. Thank goodness that at least on the guitar he remains unmatched...

But we all agree on Ornella!
