David Lynch The Elephant Man
Voto:
Yes, yes, it's useless; certain films are meant to be watched with a tissue. Greetings to Fidia and Kosmo. P.S.: interesting the story told by Cool Gray.

I saw it a long time ago and I absolutely need to revisit it. I've spent too much time without the memory of this amazing film. Both this and Big Fish are the two movies that touch me the most (but I also add the immense American Beauty and the first Little Women—let's be clear that this is an incredible outing for me... Little Women... but this review deserves it, so at least I gladly leave you a personal contribution). Thank you for reminding me of the existence of this gem. Now I can't help but tear up thinking of poor John Merrick.
Pier Paolo Pasolini Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma
Voto:
We are part of this country; we live here. "Salò" is a strange case in Italian cinema. Even today, there are people who refuse to watch it. Personally, I consider it among the top 3 films I've ever seen in my life; everything, from its formal value to the meanings conveyed, is so eternal and dark that it elevates it to Pasolini's best film in an absolute sense. Yet there are still people who refuse to see it. It’s understandable. After all, you can’t force anyone to look inside themselves. And often, even when they do, what the viewer sees is nothing but a pile of shit.

Marco Ferreri La grande abbuffata/La grande bouffe

this review is too brief.
David Lynch Inland Empire
Voto:
It's true, Blackdog, the (SATANIC) living room set up by 'Cinematografo' can only be something Lynchian. A long-haired guy, a zombie who is completely oblivious to what cinema is, and the 2 or 3 directors who take turns making pathetic declarations of love for everything-that-passes is truly something Lynchian.
Michelangelo Antonioni L'Avventura
Voto:
I also identify the peak of Antonioni's poetry in those 4 minutes. It’s hyper-cinema and it’s what is lacking in The Adventure. The criticism is not aimed at the slowness :-)
Bernardo Bertolucci Ultimo tango a Parigi
Voto:
I haven't seen it, but the review is nice.

Far be it from me to criticize the master, Il Grido and L'Eclisse are absolutely stellar films. Especially the second one. But the first one as well. Both of them, indeed.
