George Lucas Star Wars

Despite the criticisms regarding its narrative (which are valid, but still open to debate), it is a film that holds its importance because without Lucas's experiments (now the owner of some of the most significant production companies dedicated to cinematic special effects in the world, just for the record), many gadgets used in today’s cinema (and I’m talking about major Hollywood mainstream productions, but not only) wouldn’t even exist. That said, I admit that both Lucas and Spielberg annoy me, but I refrain from giving a score of 1 to something that has brought about profound changes in the realm of technical possibilities for using an entire expressive medium.
Darren Aronofsky Requiem For A Dream
Voto:
It only takes 3 comments to create a legend around a film (The Fountain) and make it part of the resume. Let's say Aronofsky made 2 good films, both strongly set in interiors, and with the third one, trying to make a leap of the same kind (spatial and temporal extension covering 3 eras), he wasn’t able to handle it and ended up with a bad film. But it’s not serious. Because everyone makes mistakes. "Darren, next time you make a film, don’t let it get messed up by even 2 majors."

This film has now entered history, and at the time of its release, it was the perfect reflection of that period. What can be said? Nothing. It's beautiful. It's perfect. P.S.: "Noi Ragazzi Dello Zoo di Berlino" is bullshit, to say the least. Insignificant characters sketched out and hastily cut, USELESS dialogues like never seen before in a film ("let's make another sword"... "can we make another sword?"... "just one more sword"... "this is the last one"... "just one more sword"... but FUCK OFF!!) in the entire film, you hear 3 phrases and the rest is so glaringly insignificant that it inevitably becomes a cult among middle school kids who rape disabled thirteen-year-olds while filming themselves with their phones. Anyway, long live YouTube.
Dimmu Borgir In Sorte Diaboli

So... assuming that the Dimmu that "cult" (the verb "to cult") are those of For All Tid and Spiritual Black Dimensions, when I bought (damn it) that piece of junk Death Cult Armageddon, I officially declared their total musical death (the listener should hear that dreadful song where the chorus is the same as the title of a famous Mayhem song... just to get a vague idea of what I’m saying). Then I read this review. I didn't even know they were making an album. The review came out a month before the album's release, and I think it's great that way because it further entices listening and builds anticipation. Anyway. For now, I've reached the fourth song and I must say that this In Sorte Diaboli is quite listenable. The style is that of Death Cult but with more symphonic moderation and without the silly parts; the riffing of bass and guitar is much more inspired than in the last releases (and this alone should be a reason for joy for any admirer of this band), and the drum parts are engaging as per Hellhammer tradition. Personally, I tend to prefer a more minimal and compact black, with a more pronounced sense of death and certainly less gaudy than this one (the listener should check out Leviathan, Xasthur, the Nortt of the splendid Ligfaerd, Craft, and Burzum's Filosofem). All stuff, in short, very far from the territory the Dimmu Borgir happily trod through. Ultimately, it’s not a bad album (as I write this comment, I’m almost at the end). Perfect to give to a hypothetical little cousin who wants to stop listening to Negramaro and the Renato Zero box set gifted to him for his confirmation by an aunt who didn’t even know him, and dedicate himself to something meatier.

Steven Spielberg Schindler's List

I definitely agree with Tabba’s opinion in de-shirt: whoever decided to dispose of this Spielbergian CRAP should go watch "The Pianist" by Roman Polanski. And stop letting yourselves be fooled by these bullshit directors.
