a perfect example of a conclusion of the "metaphysical film" genre of American cinema in the 1940s, The Sixth Sense may not shine for daring direction, but the actors are functional to the story (with a surprisingly good Willis), the plot has no holes that ruin it, and there's a nice moral with the story of the troubled boy and his "imaginary friend" who is also imaginary to himself. Since a good film is not just what Poletti (aka: Mereghetti) says, if it provides a turning point or a starting point for further discussions and reflections on certain themes or even on a genre, I already consider it a good film for that reason. It must be said that The Sixth Sense somewhat extinguishes itself, but nonetheless, the ending is well managed, as are many other elements within it. Certain situations are very touching, not just (or certainly not) because they are formulas devised by a team of writer-scientists and thrown into the film randomly to evoke tears from a passive audience subjected to neuro-stimulating video emotions. The Russian formalism is over, and we are well beyond the era of post-modern cinema. It’s just that we haven't fully entered the new era yet. The Sixth Sense is placed right at the end of this current era; a perfect example of a film from 2000 with an aesthetic anchored in the '90s. In the meantime, torn between 3.5 and 3.75, I’ll give it a 4.

The Fugazi never told me anything, and this one in particular (listened to a few years ago) I found a bit boring. Maybe the only thing of theirs I can appreciate is End Hits.

Laura, don’t think you’re being a bore to anyone, because you’d be mistaken. Keep posting your reviews. The beauty of this site is that the debate is constantly ongoing; it never stops, so there are no fixed positions, rankings, or prestigious spots. We’re all in the game. All in the same way. Just think that recently Scaruffi was here, I mean… Scaruffi!!! (laughs) Joking aside, don’t leave. You write well. You seem like a nice girl. Isn’t that enough? Also, Debaser isn’t just the community that comments. It’s also the people who search for news about a band or a film on Google, who are directed here and read the reviews. That’s how I discovered this site, for example. If you think about it, we’re not just privileged to be part of such an open community (so open that it’s practically a spontaneous dictatorship!), but we even have a mission and an ethical code. We are dentists.

I recently tried to watch some stuff by Selen and I found it disgusting and unwatchable. Unfortunately, Italian porn does not value the actresses. The shooting is terrible, the quality of the performance itself is low, subpar, and you can feel the burden of an entirely fake set where the actors seem simply superimposed. Our local product is also undermined by a shocking and embarrassing banality. From this perspective, the Americans are light-years ahead of us. Today's porn is an entirely different story...
