Poletti, I think you should seriously consider investing your time on YouTube. I'm saying this without irony.

Dario Argento Trauma

The term does not refer to characteristics through which the viewer can be identified, but rather to a general line that is more or less present in every film, which can influence the critical discernment ability of a hypothetical standard viewer during and after the viewing experience. I refer to my personal case. Argento has always been a figure that captivates, which has always been discussed and has entered our collective imagination. The "Argentian" topic has always added color to discussions about horror cinema and beyond. However, every time I watched one of his films, I felt uncomfortable. What I saw was not really what people talked about, but something distinctly different, if not inferior. His cinema contains clear stylistic traits that are part of his figurative style (the murders, the film endings, the recurring musical motifs), but the plots are always the same (a woman is gruesomely murdered by a psychopathic killer), and from film to film, the directorial style becomes so fossilized that it borders on the ridiculous (Il Cartaio). Now, it's not easy for me to explain what I mean by ignorant, partly because the term I've used might be too harsh. "Ignorantello" serves this purpose better. Here: Argento's style is rather "ignorantello." In the sense that there is very little left to the imagination, and what seems to open up to deeper or further interpretations is actually a pre-cooked mush for an audience that is satisfied with little.
