The review is a massive spoiler, but what struck me the most is when you say, "I emphasize that the plot unfolds entirely in one night, moreover quite drizzly"... that "drizzly" is charged with a whole series of unintended pseudo-mysterious meanings that... anyway.

Wait, have you by any chance seen the version with that annoying music in the background? The one I saw (I think it was four or five years ago) had a horrible loop music that never stopped throughout the film. I suffered the pains of Joan of Arc because of that awful background noise.
