one of the most beautiful music reviews I’ve read lately. really excellent. the label frocio-rock reminded me of kraut-rock... but only because of some assonances. five.

For the music/non-music discussion, it’s enough to imagine a girl singing Mocking Solemnity in the shower. If you are powerful enough to envision such a scene, then I believe one can confidently assert that drone is not just a musical genre, but also a "musical" musical genre.

Ah yes. I just read everything now. Mine was a response to the comment by Occulto Supersovrano. :)

eheheh, okay. But the song by Ricchi e Poveri was set in a context where the two girls were starting a carefree road trip. The lyrics of the song also serve to announce the protagonist's lesbianism. Instead, when the chase begins between the killer and the girl, the song by Muse sounds like it's stuck to the images, making it feel like a contractual obligation. I don’t know if I'm the only one who’s noticed this discordance, which I think is quite evident and ruins a beautiful scene.

I totally agree with kosmogabri's comment. I also enjoyed it a lot, and for a modern horror, it's certainly an EXCELLENT modern horror that stands out from a mass of truly embarrassing and "serial" products (in the worst sense of the term). The only thing I didn't like about this film is the Muse song during the car chase in the countryside. Damn, the music had been fitting and discreet up to that point... and how can you even put a Muse song in there?! It doesn’t make any sense. Aside from that, it's a brilliantly made film (you can tell Aja really has talent) and has exquisite timing.

Lethe, yours is a silly and superficial discourse. I’m referring to comment 17.

Beautiful. For lovers of noise in the strict sense, I would also recommend "Bariken" (2005) by Merzbow. A drone record made by Merzbow (no need to add anything else). And also "In Oceans Abandoned By Life I Drown" (2007) by Nordvargr. The latter is also an interesting drone work (unreleased for Nordvargr) and, for those lucky enough to get an original copy, with artwork curated by O'Malley himself.
