Charlie Haden Nocturne
Voto:
Beautiful review and wonderful recommendation, I don't have this one by Haden but I will make sure to get it.
Bob Marley Exodus
Voto:
Bob is a giant of music, and this is one of his masterpieces (one that I certainly wouldn't include is "Uprising," which is one of his least successful, apart from a few really beautiful tracks). The review is quite disappointing.
Terence Blanchard Flow
Voto:
I completely agree with what you wrote about the album; like you, I only know this one, but I'm likely to explore the music of this artist further. Blanchard has exceptional technique but also ideas (which is even more important). Again, congratulations.
Abdullah Ibrahim African Magic

and for your information Ibrahim (a.k.a. Dollar Brand) has been living in America since the mid-'70s
Abdullah Ibrahim African Magic
Voto:
I have the oldest recordings of the great Ibrahim, such as "African Sun," "Voice of Africa," "Blues for a hip king," "African Space Program," "African Piano," and "Fats Duke and The Monk," all beautiful albums, and I would consider some of them masterpieces. I'm missing this one (but I will get it, just like the others). Nice review. Al Zawahiri, your ignorance is terrifying (and it seems you take pride in it), but there is a big difference between Africa and Iraq; yours is rather an unfortunate joke.
Dizzy Gillespie & Charlie Parker Town Hall, New York City, June 22, 1945

I don't agree at all with what you're saying; perhaps you should reconsider it. I didn't find it at all syrupy, but rather sparse and essential, while at the same time enveloping and warm.

I also confirm the Altman film (yes! truly a great filmmaker) mentioned by odradek; I saw it when it came out in theaters. It’s beautiful, but for me, it’s inferior (based on my recollection) to both "Bird" and "'Round Midnight." Nevertheless, it’s a must-have.

Yes Stoopid, it was me, I see you liked it, I'm glad because it's truly a great film. I also got "'Round Midnight" by Tavernier with Dexter Gordon as the main actor (but there are also so many others like Hancock who also takes care of the gorgeous soundtrack, Shorter, Anthony Williams, Ron Carter, Ceder Walton, and others...) maybe not as good as "Bird" but a truly poetic homage to jazz, I highly recommend it.
John Coltrane Crescent

A stunning album for a beautiful review. JOHNNY IL ROZZO go suck dicks instead of being a pain in the ass, son of a bitch.
