Lucio Battisti Anima latina
Voto:
"...and to think that at the time the critics almost panned it..." But, I mean, how the hell is it possible to dismiss THE GREATEST ALBUM IN ITALIAN MUSIC? A true masterpiece, equal to the great English albums of the Seventies. But how can it be done? HOW CAN IT BE DONE? What kind of country are we living in? Anima Latina is a GRANDIOSE work, a collection of unmatched harmonies and dreams... Battisti has proven to be the greatest Italian songwriter of all time and probably unbeatable. And as I said, one of the greatest not just compared to other Italians... BUT HOW THE HELL, and I mean HELL, do you dismiss an album like that? HOW, HOW, HOW????!!!!

A review so boring that I gave up by the third paragraph. Alright, I'm off to watch a nice cartoon...

I haven't read all the comments, since there are many, so it could also be that someone has already said this, however: ELIO HAS NEVER DISAPPOINTED ANYONE.

I didn’t mean to say that all concepts are boring, just that for some (in this case Felona e Sorona) there is a risk if one doesn’t fully immerse oneself through exclusive and deep attention. It’s a problem that arises from their structure and the harmonies they possess (always referring to examples like Felona e Sorona, certainly not The Wall). I do agree, however, with the "vague impression of a concept" for Uomo di Pezza.

Is it possible that I will never remember the grades? A 5 record, really good review but perhaps a bit too "linear." It should be a 4.5 but I have to give it a 4.

Great Le Orme and an IMMENSE album. Unfortunately, it also has the flaw of prog and especially of concepts, which can lead to boredom if you don't give it your maximum attention. Felona e Sorona demands constant attention from the listener, and it's not always possible to provide that. This is quite penalizing, and it's a real shame. From this point of view, I personally prefer Uomo di Pezza, but the comparison holds only up to a certain point, since it's not a concept album. Do you agree?

I don't have the CD and I certainly don't miss it. I believe, however, that the review is critical enough, in the sense that it doesn't pull any punches. And that's a good thing. "Taylor was a mediocre drummer"... that's not good, it's absurd.

Anderson is a singer with balls. Gabriel from Genesis can’t sing. A bit like Bowie, but 100 times worse. This is the truth, dear sylvian82.

Beautiful review, although it’s not a review. Obviously, to "domandalegittima," our heartfelt compliments for being able to write, given the head of yours.
