epoch-making album. review not so much.

finally bought at Christmas in the records collector edition along with So Far. Everything I could say has already been said.. Incomprehensible and absurd record and precisely for this reason significant. Beautiful.

Indeed, many (let's say everyone) say that the masterpieces of Autechre are others (incunabula and chiasastic side), yet this one has always fascinated me for how it has been described: abyssal, dark, cavernous, glacial. Close to making a purchase. The review isn't bad, but you could have talked a bit more about the music while still staying connected to the description of your feelings. Hi.

beautiful record, although in my opinion Just For A Day remains their masterpiece. with this album, they’ve taken other paths.. there are incredible songs, but not everything has succeeded perfectly: tracks like altogether, some velvet morning, and sing (with brian eno) are quite negligible. nice, but honestly they have done better. anyway, some velvet morning seems to me to be a song by lee hazelwood with nancy sinatra. the slowdive covered it here, just like vanilla fudge and then primal scream did. I don’t understand why jesus & mary chain are still compared to slowdive. they are completely different in attitude and sound. if it’s enough to use a lot of guitar feedback, then….

After having snubbed it for years, lately I am reevaluating this group. I don’t have the CD in question, but I do have "forged prescriptions," which is a collection of outtakes, demos, and covers made during the recording of perfect prescription. I think I’ll write a review of Playing With Fire.
