to conclude beautifully the speech of ME: why is there this musical banality nowadays, why this drastic drop in artistic value? it’s clear: MTV has monopolized music, and idiots like irene, mike, and vincenzo (in my opinion, they are the same person) are the examples of this, confirmed by phrases like "if a band is famous, they must be good" and then "I see the gay dreen on MTV... so they must have talent." instead, MTV asks itself "what's more profitable for me, to promote real music... or to take a pile of money from those billionaires who don't know a damn thing about music but give me the chance to get rich?" and MTV, without thinking about it, does the most logical thing for the SHITTY world we find ourselves in (the same SHITTY world that green day accuses but at the same time wallows in). OPEN YOUR EYES (OR IN THIS CASE YOUR EARS BECAUSE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT MUSIC): TURN OFF THE TELEVISION AND FIND REAL MUSIC, THE FUTURE STARTS WITH YOU!

Here we’re talking about MUSIC and not about PERSONALITIES; you’re telling me how the Green Day are legendary and how they excite you, but this is something their music should do. And does the music do it? You’ll say yes… but whether they "pump you up" or not is a personal and subjective matter; what is OBJECTIVE, however, is that this music says absolutely nothing new and does nothing innovative; it’s straightforward-simple music, easy to understand for those who haven’t heard anything complex yet… that’s why it appeals subjectively, but objectively it has NO IMPORTANCE ON AN ARTISTIC LEVEL!!!! And you can say, "Who cares…" and I’ll respond that "it matters" to those who are true artists and who don’t get the recognition they deserve because in their place there are charlatans pretending to be great artists!!

Re-reading Francesc@'s comment, I rediscovered gems like "Billie Joe can only play with three strings" (I don't know what the "only" in the middle of the sentence is about, anyway...) well, to play like he does you just need one string and a good amplifier; after all, he doesn't need it for virtuosity, but only to keep a "standard tempo in their style" for the duration of the song, and that's it, usually around three minutes like that (thank God it's only 3!!!). Anyway, I wouldn't want to underscore the technical skill (but where?) of the band, but rather the absolutely non-existent artistic aspect: green day = just another band but praised and revered by the media and thus taken as a model by those who follow the media. ...so if 1+1 makes 2...green day supported by the media...music not complex but indeed rather simple...EQUALS POP!!!!!!
