Let's take another example: you learn a painting technique, for instance, that of the macchiaioli, and you create a drawing using their technique. Are you expressing something of your own with that work or something from the macchiaioli? In other words, is your work an artwork, or is it just an application of something you've learned, and therefore not a sign of your creativity?

The hip-hop genre, correct me if I'm wrong, was already well-established in the '80s. What sense does it make to propose something that is already super well-established?
