better than Slipknot for sure (considering that I like Down way more than Pantera though)...

It would be nice in the future to listen to a full concert of Alice in Chains.

It's a shame that they've ended with this collection. At this point, STP fans can only hope for a live release, since Atlantic seems to still hold the rights for a couple of albums under the name Stone Temple Pilots.

What can I say... the criticisms are still only received by the STP here in Italy. In America, that All Music review that treated them poorly was quickly forgotten, as they soon realized, after listening to the demos recorded in 1990 (which include various Wicked Garden, Where the River Goes, Piece of Pie...) under the name Mighty Joe Young, that the same Pearl Jam hired the Stone Temple Pilots' duo O'Brien/Didia to produce and record their next four albums... that the STP had been unfairly mistreated, and as early as 1993, the STP triumphed at the Grammy Awards (Pearl Jam would win one two years later). Core has sold 8 million copies in the USA alone to date. And songs like Sex Type Thing, Plush, Creep, Dead & Bloated have remained among the highlights of '90s rock. Whether one admits it or not. This album stands strong in competition with other great albums of the genre.
Alice In Chains Live

Great live, raw and imperfect. I liked it because it was in pure Alice in Chains spirit. I liked the following compilation a lot less, really a disgusting operation (they knew that Layne would die any day, and they released all this stuff hoping it would coincide with the awaited event, to sell more). About this live, it would have been nice if there had been a couple more tracks from the self-titled album. The best ones are the last two anyway.

What can I say... take this album. It should be listened to alone and with the lights dimmed if possible. The rest I've already written in the review.

So... I had put down grunge, hard rock, and just rock as genres, but clearly, you can only choose one. Hard rock, definitely not? Well, for me, songs like Down, Sex Type Thing, Pruno, Dumb Love,... are still hard rock tracks. Further on, there's metal. Or give me a definition of grunge that doesn’t only involve flannel shirts and the city of Seattle. As for the rest... kosmogabri... you missed the irony in the joke about Axl Rose, even though it seemed pretty clear I was joking. Regarding the potential project with Chris Robinson and the drummer from the Crowes (the other brother Rich doesn’t count this time), not much is known for now, and Robert and Dean (whose last name is DeLeo, not Leo) seem more inclined to continue their careers as producers for the moment. As for the rest, I think a Stone Temple Crowes band could work artistically, better than other supergroups that have been put together lately.
