The dears or the czars? Either way, I'd say neither. Even better are the Autumns. Always the same catalog.

From the same catalog, try the Czars, Goodbye. I find them better, less artificial.

no 5 you can't give it to him... some very nice songs, but overall a too produced album, overly artificial in its arrangements, especially for his genre...

Great review, and many people have recommended the album to me, so I will take care of it.

The Mars Volta De-Loused In The Comatorium
Voto:
I bought it the day it came out, and I believed in them from the very first moment, despite some idiot in the alternative print circles who thought he knew music and looked good by tearing them apart. (Idiot!) The album is one of the best works released since 2000 (but even before...), and I believe it will be difficult to replicate (though only they could improve upon themselves, so I still hope a bit). There are people who still listen to Muse… well, try Mars Volta and change your skin. Another name, different, but fundamentally of the same genre as the band that polluted my response above, is DREDG... be careful, their new one is coming out next year, and few will keep up with Dredg, and very few in front. Going back to Mars Volta, I’d say that after Relationship of Command, they could only renew themselves radically if they wanted to maintain similar levels. They succeeded, in fact they surpassed themselves. It’s not for everyone, that’s logical and evident, but many things that have been written in the past have shown the shallowness of many people who now retract their position. I find only one flaw in this album: Rick Rubin made the sound (just like in some of his other productions from recent years—RATM, RHCP, Audioslave…) redundant, too full, when once simplicity and essentiality were the strength of his way of producing and mixing. However, for a work like that of MV, rich in details and thus with many layers, this did not create serious damage. Elsewhere, though... We’ll see about Frances the Mute. Cheers.
