Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream
Voto:
Beautiful, engaging, never tiring. The best rock album by Corgan.
Smashing Pumpkins Adore
Voto:
I love Adore, it's a brave and never banal album, the kind that other bands (especially from Seattle) didn't have the ability to write, due to a lack of broad vision, ending up repeating themselves until they disbanded (Soundgarden), or suffering from artistic decline (Pearl Jam). In some cases, it’s better to reevaluate Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilots, who at least attempted (the AIC unfortunately only with the self-titled) different paths without being narrow-minded. Long live Adore and those who love to challenge themselves. Great songs, great arrangements, delightful for those like me who love the Cure, Joy Division, and old Depeche Mode.
Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

excessive length, out of 28, several tracks are below par. It’s much better to focus efforts on fewer songs, rather than being megalomaniacs, as if there were a common thread between song and song. The previous album is far better, and even the one that follows.

Mark Lanegan Band Here Comes That Weird Chill
Voto:
Very good Lanegan, halfway between Tom Waits and Syd Barrett this time... Half an hour of great music, a beautiful EP. It’s definitely worth picking up, though I hope the album features a bit less influence from the Qotsa lifestyle. It would be better if we could also find a couple of acoustic ballads like the now-historic Stay, River Rise, Carry Home... The only downside of this record is perhaps the drums... deliberately played in the Meg White style (often by Josh Homme)... I’m not sure if I could get along with this sound over an entire album. For an EP, it’s perfect as is, but an album... I’d find it tiring. Anyway, nice metamorphosis, the old Mark is making a great comeback.
Deftones Deftones

I really liked this album... but the question is,... with this record, have the Deftones said everything they had to say?
Siouxie & the Banshees Juju

great review
Zwan Mary Star Of The Sea

The review is enthusiastic... however, the album is not that great; in fact, at times (yeah, baby let's rock, come with me) it's downright pathetic. The vocals are exhausted, just like in Machina, and the songs left off this album that are present in the bootlegs prior to Paz joining the band are all superior to those that made it onto the album. Not an album to throw away, but we expected much, much more.
Pearl Jam Riot Act

the review ... in short, a bit too little. The album anyway didn't last long for me. Even though PJ are always a step above the others who make standard rock.
